Added new pics of rear deck lid deadening on front page and also completed the fronts including the MLV/CCF. This is a must have for anyone looking to reduce noise and increase the clarity of your tunes

Looks clean! I've been thinking about putting the sound deadening project on hold, but your build thread is making me want to start now. Biggest complaint so far is when I drive over some loose gravel and I can hear all the little clinks from the wheel wells.

So far I've only added Husky all weather mats and the DiodeDynamics trunk LED strip. Tints next and since it's actually raining in California and my commute sometimes has light snow, gonna pick up some all weather tires as well. It's getting pricey :X

How were the LED fog installs? Did you remove the entire front bumper? LED fogs and high beams are next on my ever growing list!

Thanks for the updates! Keep them coming!

Damn, not to mention side sills, cargo trunk mat and rear bumper guard. Trying to go functional before esthetics! SPT exhaust gets installed next week too!

Yes they are! But I bought mine from a different source for like 40$ less.

The sound deadening project was kind of an impulse thing for me as I came from a 4-runner which was dead quiet on the highway so I had to do something haha. I really didn't expect the results to turn out so good but with the right materials and time you can really make a change. And one thing to consider is that your new tires will make a big reduction in noise because of how loud the stock tires are, I am already looking into researching new options.

I do agree about the loose gravel noise, it's really getting to me ..Been trying to figure out if something as simple as mudflats would help reduce the issue any.

The fogs were really simple, I just jacked the car up just a tad and removed the plastic cover under the bumper (1 bolt and about 4 clips for each side) and the fog light harness is easily accessible at that point.

It seems me and you are taking on the same approach to mods! I actually just placed an order for a weather tech cargo liner yesterday. How is the DD strip? You have any pictures of it lit up. You should start a build thread once you get a good number of mods up so that we can take ideas from each other

im really interested in what you did for sound deadening. Did you only do the doors? If it makes that muhc of a huge difference, i may put off my other mods to tdo that first

All of the information is in this thread.. But to bring you up to speed in one post,

I treated all 4 doors, rear seats, entire trunk, & rear deck lid.

If you just slap 30lbs of dynamat everywhere it won't do much.

I live about 6 hours away from DFW unfortunately.. Amarillo if you know where that is.

I do occasionally venture to the DFW area though.

Found your thread from the "WRX Mods" thread.

I definitely need to sound deadend my doors. My front doors (mainly passenger) are annoying the **** out of me.

Its very time consuming but 100% worth it in the end, let me know if you have any questions when you start!

Got some new detailing products in:

I can already say that the interior clean and the natural shine dressing works very well on the new interior. I have been using meguiars products and it doesn't even compare!

Nice, I'll be ordering some of the interior cleaner!

Just had new tires (Continental Extremecontact DWS) installed yesterday and it has helped a lot with road noise and is a lot smoother ride. Should definitely make improvements on your quest to a quieter cabin!

Unfortunately, mudflaps won't help the gravel noise. I have some on and I still hear loose gravel hitting the wheel well. How many sq. ft/pieces did you need to buy from sds to do everything?

Thanks for the info, will be looking into those as soon as the time comes.

Thats unfortunate to hear.. The problem lies within the sticky tires then.

For the trunk & the front doors I used 30 ft² of MLV & 2.5 sheets of 1/8" CCF.
For the bottom of the trunk (spare tire area) I used 11 tiles of CLD tiles from SDS as well. I have just a little bit MLV left over but not enough to cover either of the rear doors.

Your list of mods is coming along quite quickly!

How would you rate the all weather mats (subaru OEM?)

I would NOT recommend them if you are looking for good coverage, they don't extend to the sides or up the footwell like husky and weathertech liners do.
I got them for $20 shipped though..

For what it's worth, new tires definitely helped with the pebbles. Driving the same roads, the new tires have helped minimize the clinks in the wheel wells for sure.

I got them from heuberger with 15% off at the time. I think the tweeters make the biggest difference but the woofers them selves are definitely better then the stock. Add an alpine power pack and only then would the speakers come alive with the OEM HU, but I have yet to do that.

WRX saw its first snow today, definitely putting new tires higher up the list for future mods

Thanks, if only there was a easy way to wrap the piano black around the starlink/hvac controls. I hate how bad it attracts dust.
