Dyno Pull: 2.6L with Bullseye 72mm turbo - 819.5 WHP at 40 psi
Event: Dyno pull
Location: Performance Solutions, Schaumburg, IL (Dyno rental) Ambient Temp: 90* dyno temps Elevation: ~600 feet Weather: Partly cloudy Tires: Star Spec Z1s, 265/40/17 Car: 2003 WRX Tuner: Me Dyno Info: Dynojet Transmission: 07 6 speed Gear: 4th Peak HP at RPM: ~820 from 6500 to 8500 Peak Torque at RPM: Around 625 +/- (tach was not working for most of the pulls) Baseline hp/tq for a stock on same dyno: ~150-160 for stock WRX Target Boost: 40 psi Target AFR: 12 Fuel: Ignite red (High ethanol race blend Engine/Power Modifications: Sleeved 2.6L (79mm x 102.3mm), fully done EJ207 heads, process west intake manifold, ID2ks, Fobia foglight mounted Bullseye 72mm 1.25AR twinscroll T4, ID2000s, Weldon 2345A, Haltech plug & play Driveline Modifications: Sti drivetrain with DSS axles, Carbon fiber driveshaft, and triple plate clutch Suspension Modifications: Fortune auto drag coilovers, removed swaybars, STi control arms, adjustable lateral links & trailing arms Other Modifications: Many This year I switched to a 72mm turbo aiming to hit 1k and while trying to tune it was starting to get wild fueling up top on the Carberry ROM. Turns out there is a compensation that isn't defined in the ROM that was playing with fueling that only gets worse on bigger builds. As a result, I also ordered a Plug and play Haltech and started tuning that and learning a lot of the differences. LOVE the thing. The powerband is considerably smoother and flatter than I could ever make it on the stock ecu, particularly up top since fueling is now stable enough I could trust adding timing. Was originally going to shoot for 50-52 psi but the car would not make more than 40 on the dyno. I believe this is related to the filter as I have had this turbo at 45+ at the track (even in lower gears) with the filter off. The filter isn't all that large and I was seeing some small-ish boost oscillations. I was thinking about taking the filter off on the dyno but the dyno just kicks up too much crap when the car goes into boost to trust it. I'll get a new "downpipe" made to bumper exit the exhaust for whenever I try to put it on the dyno next so that the exhaust isn't pointing down into the dyno to kick stuff up. Going to the track for a full weekend in two weeks so we will see what she runs and we will see how things go. Going to bring spare transfer gears, hah.

Bullseye!!!
I will be checking on nasioc just to see results of how it works at the track when its turned up... Impressions vs the old 67 fmw so far? I remember screaming bullseye all the time like a year ago and I will feel like a pos if you hate the turbo lol. Last edited by Shortpersonbk; 08-26-2016 at 07:48 PM. |

Car weighs around 2750-2780 without me in the car and I know I have a bunch more weight I can take out if I put forth a little effort. |

I was about to say you're mad revving a 2.6 to 8500, but then I saw it's an overbore rather than a stroker.
Drag car I presume? Any pictures? |

Old turbo - new turbo is in the same location, just a 72mm batmowheel instead of a 67mm Borg Warner billet. Engine bay - I am a function over form guy so it isn't particularly pretty, but it works. Probably my favorite picture for the car from Daean Chase: |

+1 for the haltech, I love my plug n play, runs smoother then the oem ecu and so many features and options with it. Nice build as well.
