https://www.flowermotorsubaru.com/inventory/new They are advertising a $500 dollar offer over the value for any trade in. There are no WRX discounts shown on their website. Last edited by Straight6; 05-29-2023 at 06:35 AM. |

Then you shouldn't try to make it seem they are having a hard time moving them. I'd suspect any retailer is putting effort to sell their inventory. They've sold 2 in 5 months. They show 2 on their site. Looks like proper allocation. Shoot. We've sold more Outbacks than they have total. And I don't think you're lying about what you saw. Maybe exaggerating a bit; but, I believe you saw the windshields. |

![]() There is nothing to defend. This car has been very successful for Subaru. I post relevant information in reference to a model that I am highly interested in and I owned in the past. You do you.

![]() Mmmmk. So, 5 months in and it seems to be doing "fine". With a higher YTD than the prior 5 years.
___________YTD 2023 - 2771 /13047 2022 - 2674 /4747 2021 - 3169 /11918 2020 - 2255 /8163 2019 - 2110 /10510 2018 - 2859 /12713 Soooo, at what point is this gen selling bad? ![]() I am curious about the next 2-3 months, though. Make sure all sales are '23 model year. |

![]() What are the numbers from 2015 when it was a model refresh? Last year was technically the first year but it doesn't count because of supply issues. If it is selling better than 2015 that's pretty good, but it also has less competition now.

![]() 15-17 model years realized between 31-34k sales. Of course, will have to see EOY sales before we fully know how it compares.
If you take the sales figures for last year's remaining months starting with June, You only need 85% of the volume realized from last year's June through December months to hit 30K this year. Considering the minimal sales drop off between 2015 and 2016 as a new model year, I would expect sales figures to be pretty similar to last year's for the same month. As such I would expect the final figures to range between 29-33k. Pretty good performance for Subaru considering how badly the car has been received by enthusiasts, and imo the second most unattractive WRX only behind the 2008 and 2009 models. Additionally when considering interest rates compared to those seen during the VA generation. |

![]() There's literally no competition. GTI, Elantra N, Civic SI are nearly impossible to find in any specific color or trim combo. And good luck getting even MSRP. In the same/similar price range same with then Miata and GR86/BRZ. Can't find them and it's a long, long wait at MSRp or below.
So kudos to Subaru for actually making WRX's to sell, but if you need something now and your considering the options above the WRX may be the only one available. |

Oh, and they are ugly, but that's subjective. The VB is much better looking (minus the rear bumper), and of course it's not a Hyundai, so it has that going for it too ![]() |

If I had to buy something now it's almost WRX by default if I wanted a specific color and trim. I'm in CT so 75 miles covers CT, parts of NY, Mass, etc. |

![]() The local Honda dealer was telling me 5K over sticker for an SI... I told him to kick rocks, lol! But really, I prefer AWD with the weather we get here in Upstate New York. If only there was a legitimate hatchback all-wheel drive that wasn't going for 5 to 10K over sticker, I would be all over it! The only thing I miss with my VB is not having a hatch. But the back seats in the VB are incredibly roomy, so that somewhat makes up for it. |

I would guess, but could be wrong, that you didn't look up all of those 120? How many of those are in transit? So far, each time someone claimed a certain amount of "available" WRXs, 60%-70% had weren't even on the lot yet. |

So, again, we need to stop generalizing and we need to take into account that some regions in the country and some dealerships have pretty good numbers of WRXs sitting on lots waiting for customers. And, yes, these WRXs get sold quickly enough; they don't stay on lots for an unreasonably long time. Going back to thill's point, there are extremely few Elantra N, GTI, GLI, Golf R or Civic Si on lots around my part of the country. Sent from my SM-S906U1 using Tapatalk |

Honestly, I've been to a few car meets locally, and a lot of the other car guys are really digging the new WRX. In person, it has some appeal. Not really much wrong with it visually, aside from the bumper, and even that is not so horrible in the flesh. ![]() |

I highly doubt that. That area sells too fast to have that many on the lot. Checked your area's full district, and nowhere near 95% on the lots. Look closer at In Transit. Or you caught it in a rare time they got their trucks in and hadn't turned them around yet(within a day or two). But, "every single time"? That alludes to you checking many times and seeing 95% in stock inventory. And I just call BS to the amount actually on the lot versus the total number a retailer would show on their site that includes in transit as well. But, to Thill's point(and mine), do those other manufacturer's dealers show in transit cars on their dealer websites like Subaru does? What are those "competition" cars sales numbers? Does the demand for those cars warrant production numbers similar to WRX? "Better" cars they may be; but, demand doesn't seem to agree. Which of the competition are "deliberate" limited production cars? Which are not and just don't sell well enough to make too many? My response is in relation to the apparent "reasoning" to WRX sales doing better that what many members this site believe/want. |

![]() Don’t all cars produced eventually sell? I don’t see any new cars from 2020 sitting on dealer lots. Subaru will sell every car they make.
