![]() SO I also have a 19 STI and the dudes doing my work have been telling me to be careful because they have already heard of 2 cars with the new pistons (I think one was a 19 and 1 was a 18 RA) that were both running bigger turbos on stock internals and had a piston fail except it was a cracked skirt that took the head with it on both of them.
So since it's my every day driver, I stopped at 357/411. Am I being too careful? Edit: Just realized you were the same dude I was talking to in the other thread lol. I'm sort of at a crossroads now, I LOVE the way the car drives and the power band feels currently but I also want to make more power. I hadd someone at a meet the other day say that once you uupgrade the turbo it really completely changes it and (in his opinion) makes it less fun because you lose a lot of the quick spool and lower end power.

![]() James, I'm uber jealous man.
Nice work so far on the build. Overall, how would you rate the "ease of wrenching" Quote:
As for power I'm shooting for 400+ pump and 450+ E85. I do not daily my car and do not plan to beat the **** outta it. I have my fingers crossed and hope to get many miles outta this build. https://imgur.com/rmCWNmo |

Ive read guys running high 3's to 400 hp and being fine. Keep your power level where ever you are comfortable. 357whp is more then enough power to get yourself thrown into jail. lol |

Makes me feel ALOT better about my 2019. I was already thinking of building a EJ25 engine before purchasing the car to have as a "ready motor" in case of catastrophic failure, but this makes me feel a bit better. |

![]() Well, that's certainly one way to look at it lmao. But now I NEED more power, I was on the highway last night and got gapped by a EJ civic. I'm gonna blame it on the fact that I was running 93 and not E85 at the time so I don't have to cry myself to sleep.

![]() Ive drive it a little, yes. It pulls ridiculously hard. I gotta get the exhaust figured out as it's "ear bleeding" loud right now. Im gonna have TIC plumb the EWG dump tube into the down pipe and replace my P&L track series catback with a Corsa exhaust.

![]() I had the car ceramic coated and clear bra on front bumper and hood. I also finally had my Forged whee mounted,l installed. 18x9.5 +45 but running a 3mm spacer so I can clear coilovers. Gen 7 Fortune auto 500 with 9K springs on the way.

I already had Cobb cat back on it and it is hard to tell if it made a big difference off the butt dyno I collected on a short drive that featured some serious on ramp speeding. Stock set up had a noticeable turbo slap at about 4k that is gone now and it just hit 18.5psi peak boost in s# beating the previous best by almost 2psi. Not sure if it is worth the money yet. |

![]() How are the post IC temps with the top mount? My Dom 3.5 heat soaks an ETS top mount after a 2-3 pull.

![]() So I’m new to the STI world along with cars in general. I currently have the 2019 sti grey series. I installed the AWE track edition cat back exhaust. Could someone help me figure out what downpipe would fit/work?

![]() I have a gray series with a AWE touring and a Cobb downpipe. No reason you shouldn't be able to run a Cobb or other downpipe.

![]() I would love reliable 400whp on e85! Hopefully she stays together. Mine isn't a daily either but spend money on my bike and truck as well so hard to conjure up money to put into the STi right now. Only have 1800 miles anyway so was going to wait till about 5k miles prior to accessport just to make sure nothing is wrong with her.
