![]() Hello friends, how are you, sorry for my English, but I need your help, since this website is quite useful for subaru lovers.
I have a 2021 Sti on which I want to install an oil temp gauge, I have the innovate MTX-D Oil temp gauge Kit and I think I need a 1/8 BSPT adapter that mounts under the battery pack. reviewing youtube tutorials there are several ways to install with the bspt sensor or a sensor extender, as it is varied I have my doubts The sensor is installed where the sensor goes under the anternator, I have also seen that they install it in a cover where the third cylinder goes under the intercooler and what else do I need to buy, I already have the innovate clock and the 1/8 bspt adapter thank you very much please help https://www.amazon.com/-/es/Innovate.../dp/B01I42DD2M https://www.amazon.com/RSC390/dp/B0B...NsaWNrPXRydWU=

![]() See post #19,
https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho....php?t=2154503 In the pan is the best place for oil temp. Back in 1973 I put my oil temp probe in the port on the OEM right angle oil filter adaptor on my 1970 340 Duster. In our 1992 Honda Civic drag race car, oil temp was in the oil pan. I know you already bought the gauges...I'm past that now at my age. I had 304,600 miles on my 2005 Legacy GT wagon that had been tuned at 21psi since it had 142,000 miles. I didn't have any aftermarket gauges on that car. Never had an issue, without gauges. It's all in the tune. The main thing younger guys need to know is, don't beat on the engine until it's warmed up. Don't drive the car for short distance and shut it off all the time. Those of us with high mileage Subaru's have found we have many fewer issues than guys who only drive for a short distance and shut the car off. These engines need to be fully warmed up to boil the moisture out of the oil. |
