2007 WRX - STi HID swap
Sure, there are lots and lots of threads out there covering this topic (I've been through just about all of them) and I think it's safe to say there's a lot of misinformation floating around in these threads. When there is good information, most of the time the associated pictures are missing due to hosting issues. That being said, I'm looking for some guidance to swap a set of '07 STi headlights the (w/ ballasts) in my '07 WRX using a Lightwerkz retrofit harness.
The swap itself seems pretty straight forward. Pull original headlights, install STi headlights, install Lightwerkz harness, and disable DRL. My first question is with regard to the Lightwerkz harness. For the most part, it's pretty straight forward, but I'm struggling trying to figure out which wires to tap on the WRX main headlight harness that are associated with the low beams. I see (7) wires going into the harness (on each side) - 2x red, 2x red/yellow, 1x black/green, 1x blue/yellow, and 1x red. Me thinks tap red to red and black to black - but is that correct? None of the threads specifically identify the right wires. Second question - disabling the DRLs. I know the process is different from '06 WRX to '07, but again it's slightly unclear. From different threads, it appears I need to disconnect the DRL resistor by the radiator support AND remove the relay behind the glove box? Some threads say just disconnect the resistor, others say just remove the relay, and some say both are required. What is the final conclusion?

I threw a set of STi HID in my 2006 WRX, no auxiliary harness needed. Just PnP and they worked. I pulled the brown relay (iirc) behind the glovebox and the one in the engine bay to be safe.
