Default Anybody know how to trace a cell phone #

Saturday afternoon I met up with a guy to sell him my brand new iphone 5 at a gas station on Haster and Garden Grove. Well I let him see it, everything seemed cool. He seemed like a normal guy, but while I began to look at the money, I looked up and he had already taken off running and jumped a wall. On the other side of the wall there was a car waiting for him, a 2000-05 silver honda accord coupe. Happened so fast had no time to do ****, car had no plates. Money was all fake. iPhone has been reported and all but I just want to see if I can find some info on this guy, maybe just spam his ****in cell phone # or if I can find the car, mess with it. The cell phone # is 714-397-8601.

I posted an ad on craigslist saying he was selling an iphone 5 for a low price. So he should get spammed a lot. Also was trying to post a casual encounters, "men seeking men" ad on craigslist but couldn't kept on blocking me.

I feel like a dumb ass, but it just happened so quick and unexpected, ****er jumped over the wall like a ninja and was gone in a min.

Also I know about Find My Iphone and all. The phone was brand new open box, nothing was set up. Otherwise I would have chased the ****ers through Find my Iphone since the phone was on.

file a police report, tell them what happened, give a description of the guy and car, give them the fake money and the phone number u have for him.
they will go after him. counterfeit money is a federal offense. so its not taken lightly.

Damn. No cameras or anything? I'm sure the police can find a name to the number unless it's a pay as you go phone.

Is his name Steven?

The number came out to be a verizon phone from a lot of those reverse phone look up sites. Also I think the gas station has cameras but they are pointed at the pumps not around the snack shop outside.

Havent reported it to apple but I did to At&t. ****er had the decency to txt me back after I txted him saying it was blacklisted and he would not be able to active it ever. His response was "over seas fool". I doubt that since to unlock an iphone anywhere has to have a good imei or have a gevey card, which is not available for iphone 5 ios 6.

Here's a tip for future deals. I usually bring a friend with to do the deal. I try to set it up infront of a bank Or a gas station or somewhere with a lot of cameras and people. I also write the plate of the vehicle down. Usually my buddy holds the goods and I'll deal with the cash. I never go alone.

I highly doubt the police will try to get a print from the envelope. There's a pretty good print on it. It's one of those envelopes from the post office that has a big plastic window. I know it's not my print, and if it is there's a lot of more finger prints on that plastic. I know some are mine but that envelope was in my hands for seconds.

At this point all that I needed to do is done so Im going to put this behind me. Turned in the money, and filed a report. Highly doubt I will ever get a call. Just the way the lady officer was acting and helping me out made me think like she didn't give a flying fucc of what I was filing a police report for. Her last name was the same last name as the giant african american dude in police academy lol. All I could picture was him after I read her name.

I guess I got a little greedy trying to sell my spare iphone but we all get greedy once in a while lol.

Thanks for all the advice guys.

Well the phone wasn't completely set up. It was just set up enough to be able to make a call. Nothing else was set up, no icloud, no find my iphone installed, nothing just basic activation of phone, thats it.

Yeah thats what I thought. They knew the area and makes me think that its not the first time they have done this on the same place.

I saw the video and none of the cameras caught his face, even though I parked in front of one. The cameras are pointed at the pumps, not around the snack shop. They do have cameras inside but none of those caught his face. That was a downer after I saw the vid. I thought for sure his face was going to be seen on the video.

Well i've given up on this iphone, I just got a lesson out of it lol. I did post an ad on craigslist to contact me if someone is selling an iphone with that phone number or an iphone with the imei # I posted with the ad. I got a couple responses, saying thanks for the warning. Also got one person that said they knew who did it. But they never answered back after a couple emails.
