Default broken DCCD wire on center differential, and DCCD swap question

I am looking at picking up a center differential and case from a broken 1995 v2 sti type RA transmission, to put onto my transmission in my 1997 v4 STI. as far as I know its a pretty easy swap to do if I have the full transfer case section to put onto my transmission correct?

the biggest issue I see now is that the DCCD wire is broken inside the transfer case. it is super close to the center differential itself and kinda of worries me. I could solder a new wire onto this one, but im worried about it breaking eventually. How easy is it to take it apart and replace the wire from the inside? is it serviceable, can I get in there to replace the wire from where it is connected to inside?

anyone see any issues with my plans?

I don't believe it's servicable. If you can get that wire back together, go for it.....but I would almost say it's pretty much toast. If you can get it for cheap enough, it might be worth it to buy.....but I wouldn't pay too much for it.

Ehh that wire break is so close to the housing pass-through. It's not going to be easy to repair that but I'd still attempt it since a new DCCD is spendy and even a used/good condition one isn't pocket money.
I'd remove the DCCD unit, clean the area really well, and try the wire repair on a workbench.
The harness looks like it is pulled tighter than usual. So you're probably not going to get away with a strait re-splice. A slight wire length increase would be a good idea as long as you don't get carried away. Repair the other wire as well.....it looks to be next in line for a spontaneous open failure.

Is the housing internals accessible? I haven't been able to find a exploded view of the differentail housing that the wires go to, I don't think there is actually enough room without taking apart the housing to acces the wire.so I would need to take it apart.

Just want to know if this is doable, cant really check myself as it is a good 12 hour drive away and im looking at getting it shipped to me.

I found a link that sells the rebuild kit for the DCCD so I'd imagine a professional can open it up?
