Default Post Your Saabaru 9-2x Aero!

My 05 Saabaru has a way to go but it has come a long way from where it started. At 178,000 miles and completely neglected it got very lucky to end up with me. I swapped a 2001 JDM STi ver 7 drive train and have replaced too many parts to list. It is far from perfect but it is work in progress.

'05 MT. Cold and Premium packages (no sunroof yay!) 120,000 miles.

Cobb Accessport Stage 1 now, but up/downpipes in garage along with Koni SA, RCE black springs, Group N engine & tranny mounts, shifter bushings, Whiteline offset LCA bushings and strut mounts. Just needing my time...which I'll have to budget before autocross season...

Funny I've been on this for for a few years and never noticed this thread. I have a blue 05 Aero. Currently stage 2 about half the bushing done, RCE Tarmac Zero, 20mm RSB, strut tower braces, group n tranny brace, WL com c and group n top hats, crappy rims, and a couple other things. Lots being started on her this summer. Been thinking about a build thread but not sure. Right now I'm doing a custom black interior including headliner, reupholstering the seats and beefing up the bolsters, and replacing door card fabric. Stitching is mostly red with some silver accents. Going to do aluminum control arms, hotchkis sways, group n motor mounts, ixiz pitch stop, And supporting mods for 2.1 stroker build. Haven't decided on rims yet but thinking Enkei TS9 in 17x8 with 245/40 rubber. Will eventually paint her but she needs some body work first. Not much just some tedious things like hail damage, cracked bumper cover, and whatnot.

So back in June of last year I picked up a 2005 Desert Silver Aero 92X 5 speed with 100k on the odometer and a rod knock. Plan was to fix the engine but then some wise ass decided to buy a JDM 205 motor and install to get it running quickly. Weeks turned into months and now it's April almost May. Car is running but just barely - not doing due diligence on the engine buy and ended up with a AVCS engine with TGV's. So when we rewired using the TGV circuit for the AVCS we now have an airflow restriction!

Because I have other projects had to set the 92X to the side. Plan is to dig into it soon and do a TGV delete then find a tuner to turn off the SES light for TGV low voltage codes. Then maybe we will see boost. I've pretty much confirmed that no power to TGV motors has them default closed and engine will not boost running with plates closed. Need to get miles on this to decide next move.

I may post pictures later.

Hey everyone-

I have a 2005 9-2X Aero that was flooded to the dash in Hurricane Harvey. I'm turning it into a track car.

If you'd like to follow along, I'm keeping a blog about it at badwaytolive.com
