Its a different bumper, jdm downer, and those useless inserts could quickly become brake vents, silly.

Oh, as for other pictures, that would be pointless since the rest of the car is identical.

It is the same bumper. It just has those inserts. Look at it.

Australia gets it too:

On a lighter note, I like the rex hatches better. I have yet to see a sedan that makes me go . I think the toyotaish tail lights are just unfixable.

gross...definitelyl not me. Looks like a Leggy bumper with pointless vents where the relectors go. And to whoever said "brake vents"..uh...
1. vents usually scoop air from IN FRONT of the wheel and direct it to the brakes for cooling.
2. i doubt that anyone is heating up the rear brakes enough to need vents.

have i mentioned that "Anesis" is the worst car name EVER...

I said that they be made into vents, and your wrong,
1.proper brake ventilation inhales cool air from the front and exhales the hot escaping air through the back.
2.if you aren't heating up your rear brakes enough that's not my problem

oh, and they are markedly different, the U.S. one has a diffuser hump above and around the exhaust outlets, whereas the other has a smoothed out transition.

1. that's inane. I've been around various motorsports scenes for 15 years driving, crewing, and working on cars and never seen a "hot air exhaust" vent for brake cooling systems on track cars or street cars. The cooling air is directed into the braking system and disperses through the rotor veins and other openings and proceeds out through the wheel or under the car, generally speaking. There is simply no way to "catch" the air in a "hot air exhaust pipe," aerodynamically-speaking. All you could possibly do is try to vent the entire wheel well, which would do essentially nothing. Even cars that have more aggressive rear brake bias (Porsches, MR2s, etc) do not have exhaust vents for the rear brakes. And I'm pretty sure if it was that important it would be present on $100k+ Porsches, which are probably harder on their rear brakes than any other cars out there.

2. we're running a pair of cars (Porsche 996 and Spec Miata) in a 12-hour enduro race on Saturday at fairly brake-intensive course. Neither of the cars will haver rear brake overheating problems, and they are not ducted for "exhaust cooling"

My rear brakes never overheat because I maintain them properly and use appropriate pad compounds for the type of driving or racing I'm doing at any given time, whether that be Hawk HPS for the street or dedicated track compounds. If your rear brakes are overheating, you're either using garbage pads or you're being stupid with the ebrake handle, or you calipers are seized. Or you don't know how to drive.

3. Forgetting the fact that the BUMPER on a WRX isn't adjacent to the real wheelwells anyhow. If for some reason you actually wanted to have "exhaust vents" for the rear wheels you would just dump the "hot air" out underneath the car, not run a tube all the way to the bumper.

The only logical reason for having vents int he rear bumper is to let out any underbody air drag buildup behind the bumper, depending on the aerodynamics of the bottom of the car. This would be a valid reason to have bumper venting on a race car (though I don't recall seeing it done often, since it's far more effective to use an underbody splitter)

face it, rear bumper vents in a WRX are about as functional as the hood scoop on my 4runner.....

If you like the way they look, cool. Nothign wrong with that. But don't act like they are a performance accessory.

oh, right

although, I still think there would be an advantage to creating a vacuum within the wheel well to efficiently evacuate hot air.

ya i know what you mean about the corolla look. but actually seeing the car in real life is totally different than looking at pictures in my opinion. the cars just look different for some reason. and especially with my new rotas, the car just looks mean and i was like forget what i thought about corolla
and idk about the chrome.. i kind of like it now. it used to bug me but not so much anymore. im not really going for the stealth look, i just happen to have it all blacked out haha
