2015 WRX turbo options?
I'm curious if anyone has seen or heard of any planned or completed turbo swaps for the 2015 WRX?
I love the direct injection (finally) with full torque at 2000rpm, especially with the new 2.0 block that can hold a ton of power. I'm looking forward to the aftermarket options. A 2015 WRX with a 350hp drivetrain would be much more to my liking.

I'm thinking about a gt3076R or 73 twin scroll, but am awaiting housing and header options.
One though was to bore out the stock hot housing, but I think it might be too restrictive for a larger turbo. Sent from my iPhone using NASIOC |

I would expect someone will be doing the hard work of installing larger DI injectors at some point? Just like a diesel (DI for 100 years), installing new injectors isn't as easy as with port injectors, but it's worth it.

I don't think they make larger DI injectors that will fit the car currently but this engine is showing serious potential, I retract my previous statement on E85, I think Clark Tuning made 340 WHP on E85....
that's getting close to 400 HP at the crank, I feel for the Daily driver that wants more power then stock 300 WHP is way faster then most of the cars I see daily on the road going to work and plenty powerful enough for traffic and high speed bursts... its crazy that you can get that kind of power with a budget of less then 2 Grand! |

I hear you on 400 crank hp being more then enough for most people's driving. It's a hell of a lot more power than most cars on the road put out. For my tastes, I have found that my personal sweet spot is right around ~350hp (at least for a car of this size). I drove a Cadillac CTS-V for a while with some mods that put down mid 400's to the wheels. Even with the awesome suspension, it still felt a bit like a boat to me compared with a smaller car. I liked the power, but I really only appreciated it on dry pavement and didn't dare take it off the road, which are things that were problematic for me. Anyway, a new WRX with 350hp on pump gas would be perfection to me. |
