How does the beam patten cut-off look with the aftermarket bulbs on your low-beams? Is it sharp like the stock LED headlights? Could you post some pics. Also, does it seem like the light is being focused in the correct area (IE did changing your bulbs from factory sized to HID sized mess with the way the projectors pick up and send the light.)

Went to AMR Mastertuner yesterday. I have my car in the Ecutek system. Will do the tune the following weekend. Put in the HKS funnel and changed oil while I was there. Will post once I get the tune

Are you worried at all about your warranty, tuning this early after buying your car?

Was the HKS Intake funnel a straight bolt onto the airbox or did you have to do some cutting/fabrication?

Bolted right up - PnP.

Careful with the flange that clips into the same clip that helps hold the stock milkjug (intake resonator chamber).

The reason for this is the HKS funnel mold for this piece is much thicker and fit is so snug it can easily snap (ask us how we know).

Even without it - once inserted and rotated into plate, the funnel isn't going anywhere - even under full boost. But just to be safe, we used a self-tapping screw and washers to secure the flange to the front section of the airbox.

Not really. We're not going for an engine re-build, Stage 2+, race gas or E85 tune. Just a vanilla Stage 1 tune with no mechanical modification other than stock/port-installed CBE on the exhaust side, drop-in filter and funnel on the intake side. Probably won't even raise peak PSI - no need on a turbo as small as the one on this FA20DIT. Its already strained as-is.

If anything, the tune will be a whole lot safer than the factory settings (even with learning), re-scaled MAF (to account for the intake changes), leaner (read: NOT lean) AFR (its rich in way too many places right now bone stock), improved ignition and timing, boost maps, adjustments to account for IDCs (even more important here on a boosted DI engine).

If the car ends up making more low-/mid-range torque - great.
Couldn't care less for peak HP gains or any aggressive settings that call for AKI100 gas or E85.

Does it potentially* void warranty - sure. But will it keep the engine 'happy' to a point we doubt we'll ever need warranty engine work - yes.
*I doubt anyone doing warranty work on a suspension component or something in the cabin will check or need to check the ECU. If they do, oh well... next dealership.

Bellipotens, what kind of paint did they use for the headlights? Matte, Satin, or Gloss? I like how yours aren't completely blacked out (especially the projectors), did they paint behind the c-lights, or did you leave that silver?

He can correct me if Im wrong, but as far as the C Light he told them not to paint that part to reflect more. Great thinking!

They used semi-gloss black paint. What Redeemed77 said is exactly correct - I asked them not to paint the chrome part under the c-light in order to help better reflect the light - in my opinion it definitely helped. The c-light fills better with light now compared to before.

You also didn't paint the round area around the H11 projectors right? Yours look good, don't completely dark.

That is what I wanted. All depends on the look you are going for. I wanted to keep it a bit JDM style. Painting the entire light, especially on a dark color like DGM, just hides the highlights the car has to offer.

Great thread man, I have a question about your kicker sub volume control. I think this is a great idea but is it a direct plug and play? I didnt think the oem kicker subs used RCA cables. If it's not, do you think you could give a quick explanation on how you spliced it in?

^Go see one in person, drive it, check out the interior, remember it's more fuel efficient and out handles the previous generation, more rear seat space, etc....but if you are not convinced then enjoy your 2011...nothing wrong with that.

BTW, if you serve...THANK YOU!

I had a guy do it in a shop near me. It was not plug and play. Routed the wires under the plastic door sill pieces to the trunk. Link to the items I used can be found on first post of this build thread - This was what he used: http://www.amazon.com/PAC-LC-1-Remote-Amplifier-Controller/dp/B0002J226O?tag=53361059562-20

Plastic push in rivets (My friend owns a car shop and has a ton of them - Looked around and picked the best one that fit).

Go to Home Depot or Lowe's, and look in the nylon fastener drawers in the hardware department. I found mine there - I believe they were 3/8" (but I'm drunk right now so I might be wrong lol).
