where did you hear of this? i always knew they had to be downplaying subaru engine failures to some extent. Im a big fan of their content, just wondering what goes on behind the scenes.

Do they have any credibility? "Mechanical stig" is in a group I'm in along with Marty and hasn't mentioned anything. Also semi related, My dad works in the same complex as moog, parked behind the 180+figaro a few months back n realised |

It does seem like if the car had engine failure it would be more well known, I have not seen anything about it on the unicorn. |

Aluminum Hall sleeves
With the cam and crank sensors now working properly I thought it would be wise to future proof the design a bit more. The 3D printed housings were great for proof of concept but the melting temperature of the material (PLA) is 150-160C. Since this will be in the engine bay it is possible that the parts could see that temperature in the summer time. So I had a friend with a mill and lathe make them out of aluminum.
I also got the correct size tap to thread them so I will only need to use one of the provided nuts, which really helps for the crank sensor as I won't have to remove the timing cover to get at the bottom of the sensor. Since I have a spare engine with no timing cover on it's super easy for me to get the spacing correct. Next up I'm adding a capacitor between the coils and the ECU for a less noisy circuit, I've got to weld my rear sway bar mount as it seems to have snapped off. I will probably make a NA Megasquirt drive video before I take the front apart to start welding up the manifolds. |

Have you thought about air to water intercoolers? There are more parts involved but can be mounted anywhere so airflow wouldn’t be an issue.
I’m digging this build. Looks good! Keep it up! |

I have thought about it and that may happen. I really like the idea, I'm going to give these intercoolers a shot and if that doesn't work out I'll probably start looking for water to air.

Love the videos man, keep up the good work. I'm super interested to see how the intercoolers and all the piping fits behind the bumper.
