When installing these do most people remove the stock horns or leave them in? Reason I ask is with the stock security system ( i assume the horns and security are connected) how would the alarm be integrated into the Hellas if the stock horns are pulled?

Remove the stock. The hellas run on the stock horn system using the stock wires

Of the two stock horns wires, I used one to trigger the relay powering the hellas, and I kept the lower note stock one in place. After trying them I felt that the hellas needed a little more low end frequencies, and it probably makes for an even more dissonant tone

Use one of the 2 oem horns wires to trigger a relay. Then use the contact of the relay to switch a fused 12v coming directly from the battery. On the "ouput" side of the contact, splice into 4 wires feeding power to the 4 horns. Run a negative wire to the other side of all the horns (you can take a single wire from the battery, go to the first hella, and jump it one hella to the other. As long as the wire is big enough voltage drop sbould not be an issue).

It is pretty much the same as you would do with 2.

Just delete the stockers and replace with the ST's. The stock ones are useless. I have installed hundreds of sets. Ensure to use the harness, relay ect that comes with the kit.

Takes about 30 or so minutes for an easy install

I'd ground the horns directly to the chassis right there and protect the connection with dielectric grease.

Additional wire length will inevitably increase the total circuit resistance, especially as the cable degrades from environmental exposure after the first year.

i was worried about the horns losing power if i spliced all 4 from one line, and as for the harness set up i made my own a while ago when i hooked up 2, now i am (will be) hooking up the second set. i have 12 gage wire, will this be an issue with resistance? and also is there any problems with that so far? and yea im pretty sure i get exactly what your saying but i wasnt sure if there was a better way, or a diagram. but thank you all!

Bought my wife's from subimods. Liked how they came powdercoated, she got the pink, and they are very bright.

To those who used the stock wiring harness, how were you able to lengthen the wires? I just unplugged them and have no slack to bring them to where the are supertones mounted?

All you need to make your own harness is a male to female wire, and female to ground(spade) wire for each horn.

I just got the jna green Hellas and some 18 gauge green wire from pep boys with a few connectors and put about a foot extension for each wire and was able to reach.

It's actually quite easy using stock power connector, and I didn't realize gc's only had one puny stock horn.

does the size of the wire matter? i ran out of 14 gauge wire but i have a lot of 18 gauge wire, could i just use the 18 instead of the 14??? would this decrease the sound????
