I think that it was only the 08-09 years that had them. Then they went to the black housings. I like mine.

Brake pads and rotors are covered under warranty correct? When did everyone replace theirs?

I don't think so as they are parts that are meant to wear down.

I thought it covered wear and tear items, wipers, pads, etc. Pretty much everything besides tires?

Been doing a lot of reading about shocks springs combo for the 2.5i. For the daily driven 2.5i owners who upgraded their OEM shocks and springs, which setup did you guys go with?
Anyone use swift springs and bilistein shocks? Or anyone can chime in about bilistein ride quality?

I think the only Bilstein option out there is when you purchase from GTWorx/RCE. I think some have done different springs with their Bilstein offering, but I guess I would recommend either their Yellow/Bilstein combo or the Regular Guy(black)/re-valve setup if you are looking for shock/spring combo...

I was looking to go that route originally, but have yet to get firm opinion on who likes what for a vehicle that is a daily driver. I think, since it is not a WRX or STi, and that it will see limited track time, I am going the BC BR Series coilovers. Not top of the line by any means, but good value for the money with good reviews, including someone local running them...

My front brakes developed a shimmy around 30K. Rotors were turned down for free under warranty.

subaru's warranty seems like a load of BS...
read too many stories of warranties being turned down then actually being honoured.
SOA yeah your car has warranty

I have the GTWorx / BCE Blacks on my 2011 OBS. So far I've put about 600 - 700 miles on them. Its my DD with just over 37,000 miles of pothole infested NY / NJ driving in just under 17 months. Car feels well planted and handles the rough stuff way better than the OEM struts ever did. When I first installed the kit, the car was slightly bouncy, but it's settling in nicely now. The ride is firm, but not bone shattering. Handling is greatly improved with a very nice stance. I'm riding the OEM OBS wheels with Conti ExtremeContact DWS Tires. I don't bottom out and can carry 4 adults or 2 adults with 3 kids in the rear without issue nor fear of rubbing. Tires and wheels tuck nicely into the wheel wells. I'm extremely happy with the purchase and wish I pulled the trigger on the kit last summer rather than waiting so long to buy them.

Goto gym, park next to a 2011 spark silver metallic STI. I tell the guy he has a nice car. He then Asks if I have an "08" referring to a Wrx. I say no it's a 2011 2.5i impreza. He responds "oh it's a new wrx then" face palm... Sometimes I wonder whether Wrx or STI owners really know what car they are actually driving. If they can't identify another Subaru other than a Wrx or STI than that's just sad IMHO. I feel as though we 2.5i owners are more enthusiasts than everyone else sometimes....

Well, not all subaru owners are car enthusiasts like us.

BTW kart, what hid set up are you using? I'm thinking of buying 35w, but I can't decide between 5000k or 6000k.

So your trying to say google employees own subaru's? I'm pretty sure those are their work vehicle so nice try Jordan but hey at least google is supporting Subaru in a way lol.

And outback dream: I'm running a 6000k 35watt setup from lightwerks. Pricey but I love them. If you want more of a white color them get 4500/5000k, my 6000k kit started out white with a very slight blue tint but over time it just kept getting more blue-ish lol.

LOL, yeah I parked next to this 06 wrx one time and the drivers there. He's like whoa, what is that? I'm like OBS. He asks how much it pushes, and I tell him 170 BHP. And he goes, even with the turbo? although I do wish it was turboed and DOHC. But it's all good

Is the bluish tint better than the white tint at night to see? Im reading people getting way over 6000 like 8000. Anyways thanks
