Default WRX/STI/ForresterXT MPG Tracking

Hey guys, I've been wanting to collect some stats on the various MPG's that some people get and compare the results with some graphical analysis. So I whipped up the following PHP page where you can input your info.

When we have a good amount of collected data, I'll run some reports and we'll post the results here! Pass this link along to ALL Subie owners!

Good idea. My city mileage is lower than the average, but it's 100% city and short trips.

Good job guys, please pass the link along. I'll post the final results when we get about 75-100 people listed, that way we have a good sampling of the Subarus out there!

Visit the same link later next week for the final results!

Done. The differences between models are already visible. How much variation is there within each category? I guess that will be published with the graphs.

I'll post graphs and other analysis further on this week. I'm hoping for 100 different people to post so that we get a good sampling of what's out there!

You should have added stuff like geographical region...that can be a factor with the air temperature. I would have also filled in a box that described my driving style a bit more. For example: I almost never enter boost on my daily commute and thats why my MPG is so high.

Can't have everything! I tried my best and asked several other WRX'ers for input.

That was the list they came up with. You wouldn't even begin to believe all the people who leave THOSE boxes empty! It's crazy! (They didn't even know the STOCK HP their car had...)

I put in the wrong figues, sorry, I was thinking of my mileage per tank for some reason. Here are the actual figues for my 04 sedan
18.3 city, 20 highway.

You should have a distinction between northern and southern CA 91 octane gas. They're quite different.

I appreciate the suggestions, but since we have over 100 entries already, I don't want to add anything else to the mix. (It will skew any reports we try to generate out of this set of data)

Maybe we can try again, but for most purposes, this program will collect satisfactory data to make wise decisions. Pass the link along so we can get better data collected!

Have you cross-posted? I wonder if the mods would consider this to be worthy of cross posting. You might even stick it in OT, that gets alot of views. Ask a mod...cross-posting might get you more entries.

It's in N/A 2.0, Turbo 2.0, and Turbo 2.5

Any other suggestions?

Well, the power rating is kinda hard. Like in my situation all I have is an EBC so I'm not one of the stages so I selected stock and put down estimated crank HP.

There is no way I could accomodate ALL mods, so I did my best. Having an EBC (OR MBC for that matter) all depends on whether you actually drive IN boost often enough to effect your MPG.

Driving habits are more a predictor of MPG than whether you have an EBC or MBC. That is taken into account with the "Driving Style" box. I wouldn't worry about your EBC throwing off your data.

Well, I know general info and OT get some traffic too. Each individual Impreza/Forester forums too...I'm not condoning cross-posting if the mods aren't cool with it...but if they think this is a good idea, they may even sticky it for a little bit???

I don't know...I wouldn't go overkill personally, but it sounds like you have the main ones nailed. Great idea, btw!

Don't want to screw up your data, because my highway mileage is not normal.
However, for a typical 250 mile trip on German Autobahns:

18mpg cruising between 100 and 120mph
19 mpg cruising between 90 and 110
