Cool Return of I test drove the 2.5RS yesterday.... picking up the car today....

Hey Gang,

Well in case you didn't see the other thread, you'd not know what the debate was over the 4AT and the 5SPD for the 2.5RS wagon.

Well, the fiance is coming with me to test drive the car this morning @ 10:30am and Rob @ Wentworth would be able to get me the car I want within in an hour or two.

So the options the on the car are:
Tweeters
RS Floor Mats
Back non-slide mat for the trunk

I opted out of the mudguards, spoiler and bug shield for the car since those seemed like were booed by the NASIOC members.

So the price is going to be $17,900 w/ a 2.9% APR for 48/60 months and about $4,000 down.

It's kinda of exciting that I'll be getting the car. I'm going to be making sure that they don't detail it prior to delivery (i've heard horror stories) and I'd like to see if they would remove the license plates holders and/or not drill the front (if they have already oh well).

Anyways, expect pictures later on today/tonight.

Thanks guys for all your help and yes.... I'll be another 4AT driver.

Congrats!

Nice choice I have a 2004 RS. Overall a great and practical car! When those WRX guys give ya crap about having an NA car just remind them that you didnt have to sign over your soul to get it. JK! I know quite a few people with $500+ payments on thier WRX

Good luck and have fun!

Have fun with the car. i have owned an WRX and a STI and sometimes miss the pure rush. But I always feel better when i pump regular gas , less often and have smaller car payments and insurnace.

Well ended up opting out of the spoiler due to getting a wagon instead of getting a sedan.

24hrs hrs with the car though and I'm loving it!!!! I will never own another Audi again, this is is fast, has good pick up, the AWD is great and I can haul a ton of crap!

I'll post pictures hopefully tomorrow!

I wonder if I'm too late but REMEMBER to get 5 non RE92 tires. 4 on the car and one full sized spare in the back. The Potenza RE92's cost about the same as all the other tires but are JUNK! You don't want them. Have the dealer include as part of the sale a new set of 4 tires and 1 full wheel tire spare.

Depends where you live but I chose Blizzaks. If it doesn't snow where you are you might perfer a good road rain tire.

You should spend some time in the Tires & Wheels forum researching what tires to get (you'll likely find that a summer set and a winter set will help a lot, especially if you plan on doing any driving in the mountains or other cold places in the winter). Another tire to consider is the SP Sport 5000.
Have fun!

i strongly suggest upgrading the rear sway bar. you can get a stock 20mm from the '02 wrx sedan. install is like 20 min. very easy, very helpful.

I know I know. I didn't have time to take pictures of the wagon yesterday (due to super bowl) and I forgot to bring my camera with me today (was up till 2am last night) but I'm off at 4 this afternoon so I get home, snap some pics and upload them to my directory!

Question about the sway bar, I was actually thinking of getting a bar for the engine bay as well, but would replacing the rear one and the engine bay oneat the same time be a good idea?

the front is already a 20mm. the rear is only 17. upgrading the rear will help your turn-in. the front you would have to get an aftermarket one, and unless went 22+ probably wouldn't notice. don't bother with strut tower bars except maybe in the hatch. the problem is it interferes with the great storage, and add only a marginal improvement. you can upgrade endlinks too, but i didn't notice that upgrade half as much as the rear sway bar.
('02 obs wagon)

you can upgrade everything, but you wouldn't notice the change much unless doing autocross-like activities and they will definitely increase the suspension noise and stiffness of your ride during daily driving.

Ive had my toyo proxies 4's on my RS for about 7k miles now and I love them!

They are awesome in the rain and in the dry. They do give up some dry traction to those summer tires out there (obviously), but for an All Season they perform quite well. Mine dont tramline or make much noise at all.

I highly recommend them.
