There was some but we only had to Torque plate hone the cylinder to get it back to round. The larger head studs distorted the block more than the block guards them selves.

Here is a link to the VSR Motorsports block: S&R Performance

I think we torque plate honed it .002" just so we had proper PTW clearance and the cylinders were round agian. Stock size pistons.

We built this engine in house. We don't build engines for the public however. We just are not setup to do it.

Did the cosworth manifold broaden the power band?

We picked up 4 MPH on same boost with the Cosworth intake manifold. It never went on the dyno until after we swapped engines. So I don't know for sure if it broadened the power band or not. It did pick up power though.

4mph it's quite substantial considering what mph it was already trapping. Pretty impressive

yep, timing wasn't changed just fuel to account for the different intake manifold and because the car has no IAT sensor it has to be tuned day of basically. lol

Come down to Vegas on 11/24 and bring Matt down with you! Would love to see the car in person and make some runs against it.

I don't think there's a whole lot of choice seeing as how you can only but 704 cases new now. Unless they had an older perfectly good case to close the deck on.

I know you can only get the 704 cases new now, but some people seem to have a older cases lying around.

Yep, some do and if they're good and well seasoned it would be a good case to close!

Pretty sure they were brand new 704 cases but I am not 100% sure. I didn't look before the engine got assembled.

I came across this article on stress relieving blocks, its food for thought when you think about the problems people seem to have with sleeved blocks. I know VSR motorsports offers cyro treating your block as a one of their services. But according to the article, when you have to go with one, go with "shaking"

I hear that! Broke tires loose and took the car sideways in our 6466 setup the other day...at 15% throttle.
