Default Moving to AL

Moving into the Birmingham area in AL from northern VA. Made a few trips down there, but didn't really see any other subbies in the area except for your traditional outback and foresters. Curious if there is any other subbie guys in the area? or if there are any kind of meet ups?

A bit north in Huntsville we have the "Huntsville Flat Four" Subaru group on Facebook that meets up every now and then. People often drive up from Birmingham or down from Nashville. Check us out!

This is very reminiscent of one ShagnRs. https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/member.php?u=373 (OMG LOOK AT OUR LOW MEMBER #'s).

There's a FB group with over 400 members:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1449656455305276/

We had a crew called BDSM (Birmingham Drunken Subaru Modders) that was very active, but most of us are old school, owned GC8s and bug-eyes kinda guys that are not in the scene as much..

LMK what you're into and I can help point you in the right direction. B'ham is a cool town...

Yep, back in 2003 when I had the burgundy bug-eye... With the 4" downpipe LMAO! Back in the days when it was a "Bad thing" to NOT have the check engine light illuminated on modded subarus.

So Goonie, what part of Alabama will you residing?

I live in the Birmingham area, and let me tell you something. I have always lived in Birmingham, my granddad was a mechanic, my dad was a part time mechanic, and I am just a hobbyist who loves to get my hand dirty. I go too almost all the car shows in Birmingham, and enjoy them all. We have one the first Saturday of every month at Ashley furniture store in Gardendale, check us out. Not a lot of Subaru's, but its still cool.

Grew up just outside the Bessemer area myself and I travel up fairly often from Florida to visit family. Every so often you may see one of my Subarus poking around the area. Either my 06 WRX (banana sedan), 06 Baja turbo, or my 06 FXT.

I hardly ever see other modded Subarus when I'm back home. I get looks from other car guys like I'm driving a lambo or something magical.

I know, both of my subies are highly modded. I can't even go to the store, or even leave the neighborhood with out people taking pictures and trying to race.

After looking at your Instagram I actually might have seen you around Hoover last time I was back home visiting. Although I think I was driving my Baja at the time with a camper shell so it easily gets over looked since it was mostly stock at the time.

My IG is @liftandsepr8 that were most of my pictures are of my Subarus, short of the wife's FXT of course.

Cool, I will go follow you. If you see me again, give me a nice rev and a wave. I will do the same if I see you. Everytime I see another Subie, I give it a little rev and a wave out the window, just to say HEY!!!
