there was a recent group buy on another forum 25% off.
get a list together and you guys could probably setup your own group buy.

$330 + $15 for sealant tape + shipping - 25% was like $260-$270 for me.

I finally get it on Monday morning, however, over the course of the weekend I trade my07 WRX for a 2011. So, I had to exchange the bulbs for the right ones. Tuesday morning, I send my H7 package back to DDm via two day air. They get it on Thursday (2 days). *Note, I paid just under $8 to ship it to them but they charge $13 for the same service?!)

Ok, so they get the package, which by the way included the return exchange number and which bulbs I actually needed, but they didn't ship anything out. Instead, they email me asking me to call them so they can collect shipping cost again! Well, I wrote them an email explaining why I shouldn't have to. They never responded.

So I finally call them on monday to pay $13 to have it shipped back via two day air, again. Friday morning, still no package so I call again. Turns out they never shipped it! At this point I'm pissed...and no mention of, "sorry...we'll cover the cost or throw in some free candy". So, they ship it out and I finally got it on Tuesday.

So, what should have taken less than 1.5 weeks, took three...oh, and about that packing. All that was included were two ballast and bulbs. No mounting hardware, instructions...or candy!
DDM sucks big time: product quality control and customer service are non existent! It took 3 weeks to get a relay harness. Plus the ballasts are garbage!

So I just got my kit and after looking at the manual I am more confused about the install than before. The manual I got is as good as no manual.

OP, what did you connect to what? I see two connectors on the ballasts. I think one of those connects to the new HID bulb. Does the second ballast connector plug into the old/OEM H11 bulb connector? Does that sound about right?

Also is the stock headlight harness good enough to drive power to the ballasts? Any danger of melting the stock harness?

You're right...one will be connected to the factory plugs and the other to the new hid lights.

If u spend all that work for the hid kit might as well spend 2 minutes bending the flap down to remove the squirrel spotters aka the glare above the cutoff. Otherwise Save for a retrofit.

Just my 2 cents.
Hmm...I just spent a very long time looking inside and around the light but can't seem to find any holes big enough for wires. The only thing I could locate was the stock grommet at the bottom of the light but its wedged pretty good in there and I am not sure how you can run wires through it without ruining it. At this point I think the easiest thing might be to drill a hole but if there is a more elegant solution I would like to know what it is. Thanks in advance!

**UPDATE**

So, it's been nearly 1.5 years since I installed the DDM kit into MY11 WRX and well, they're still working! I haven't had a single glitch/flicker during the entire time, and yes, I'm surprised as well. Being that I only paid >$50 for the kit, I figured I would've need to replace something but I haven't had to, yet. Hopefully, this thread is still helping too!

I chose to drill 2 small holes on the under side of the lamp and routed the wires for the lights there instead of hacking up the cap. It is my so called stealth HID install because everything is under the light behind the bumper.

When my ballast first went out I used my keychain led flashlight, I wedged it between the hood and the headlight. Hmmm might just do the other side too.

After installing mine I get condensation on my passenger inside lens. I've applied silicone as well and still get it, should I replace the dust cap and start over or what? It seems to be pretty sealed up but apparently not. Has anyone else experienced this?

IIRC the 2011 and 2012 headlights aren't fully sealed...they are designed to allow for condensation to escape ones the headlight warms up.

So this is normal and want effect bulb lifespan because of unneccesary moisture?

I would say it's pretty normal for the '11s. My 2011 had condensation in the headlights 2 days after I bought it, but cleared up pretty quick.

I've never had condensation in my lights either but I'm pretty sure a TSB went out describing how the lights are vented to allow moisture to vent out of the light because people were bringing cars back to the dealer for warranty repairs.

I'm not sure if the moisture will affect the bulb life. Maybe the moisture isn't leaving because the temperature of the HIDs is lower than halogens so the water doesn't vaporize as readily?

Is it a reoccurring problem or is there some moisture in there that just won't go away?

To be honest it goes away and comes back but only on the passenger side headlight the driverside has not done it. I cant remeber if it did it with the halogen bulbs or not. The car was bought at a dealer up north and shipped here to a dealer in town which we have humidity all year round.

Maybe you accidentally sealed up the opening which was purposely left open in order to allow moisture to escape?
