At this point I think the easiest thing might be to drill a hole but if there is a more elegant solution I would like to know what it is. Thanks in advance!
I just installed my kit last night and the stock grommet is actually very easy to push through. All the wires of the kit fit through the stock hole very easily.

It would be nicer if you had a light meter so you can gauge the brightness of the glare using a professional tool but not many people have those.

lol @ every one.. "have fun blinding other drivers" "looks horrible"

It's great for ME and ME seeing the road, I couldn't care less about every one else on the road and how my lights are effecting them. If you're looking for more light and don't wanna spend the $500+ for complete new headlights, buy HID's and **** every one else.

That's the attitude! If I blind someone and they run off the road, sucks for them! At least I'll be able to see!

You're putting more light closer to you not further away, you're eyes will focus on that light then instead of what you need to be seeing further down the road..

Did you happen to separate the lens from the headlight housing by baking it? If so, it sounds like you missed applying silicone to a certain spot and you'll def get condensation. If you didn't and just followed the steps from my instructions, then I have no idea why you'd be getting condensation inside the headlight housing.

you sir are a complete DB.

while i remain against any government regulations against modding, this is how complete disregard for others makes the POL's create more laws and regulations to make the sheeple feel safe.

H9's FTW! provide a little bit brighter and actually usable light, looks clean. no hacking or cutting up plastic.

If you haven't noticed humanity has given up on eachother, who cares if its "rude" to other drivers ill never see them again in my life most likely and if I do? I do not give a ****, might as well put a stock cat back on to so you don't damage there ears from the high dB our exhausts put out, possibly scare them and make them swerve off the road? If I get flashed with my 55w ddmtuning 6k in my 13 wrx ill be sure to turn my brights on and let them know I have another set of lights too. Stop acting like you care for Betty Boop who lives 10 miles away from you for that 2 seconds she might see your hids? My 55w are much brighter then my stock headlights, and my buddy's 07 STi. Ran them in my 08 for 2 years and now in my 13 perfect lights.

P.S stop looking at headlights while your driving.

Are HIDs in reflector housings an annoyance when people with them are driving towards you? Yes.

Are HIDs in halogen projector housings an annoyance when people with them are driving towards you? Debatable.

Is it a good thing to do either of the above? Probably not. Argue all you want about useable light and all that. Valid issues that have been talked about by smarter people than me. What I do disapprove of is when we use the terms "dangerous" and "blinding", especially when we talk about 2008+ Subaru's with halogen projectors. The small amount of glare above the cut off is NOT bright enough to cause someone to swerve off the road or be blinded. That's complete garbage. A drop in HID kit in your 2012 wrx is not a danger to other motorists.

If you want HIDs in your halogen projectors, go for it. You are probably doing yourself a disservice, but that's your problem, not mine. It would be smarter to do a H9 setup, but its your car.

I found the stock halogen bulbs a danger as I felt like I was over driving my headlamps all the time due to lack of light.

Figured I'd bump this. With all these people complaining about glare (don't bash me, I'm running H9's), would you stop complaining if the squirrel finder is bent down?

This thread has been extremely helpful to me... I was up in the air on whether I should purchase an HID kit and just slap it on my stock halogen... or go all out and do a retrofit or purchase OEM STI headlights...

I went with the ladder and just recently purchased stock STI headlights... figure this way, I will have the most clean cutoff with no glare. Thanks for the help all!

Just my 2 cents.
Where do you route the wires too? anyone do this? pictures?

I believe the holes are on the bottom of the headlight housing. I could be wrong but that's where the factory hid are installed.

These are legit, if they're not blinding.
