Take a pic with the car about 20 feet away from the wall. Then hold your camera above the cut off where you see that glare and take a pic of the car. I'd be curious as to if your phones camera lens is blinded by the glare.
It would be nicer if you had a light meter so you can gauge the brightness of the glare using a professional tool but not many people have those. |

lol @ every one.. "have fun blinding other drivers" "looks horrible"
It's great for ME and ME seeing the road, I couldn't care less about every one else on the road and how my lights are effecting them. If you're looking for more light and don't wanna spend the $500+ for complete new headlights, buy HID's and **** every one else. |

Did you happen to separate the lens from the headlight housing by baking it? If so, it sounds like you missed applying silicone to a certain spot and you'll def get condensation. If you didn't and just followed the steps from my instructions, then I have no idea why you'd be getting condensation inside the headlight housing.

Are HIDs in reflector housings an annoyance when people with them are driving towards you? Yes.
Are HIDs in halogen projector housings an annoyance when people with them are driving towards you? Debatable. Is it a good thing to do either of the above? Probably not. Argue all you want about useable light and all that. Valid issues that have been talked about by smarter people than me. What I do disapprove of is when we use the terms "dangerous" and "blinding", especially when we talk about 2008+ Subaru's with halogen projectors. The small amount of glare above the cut off is NOT bright enough to cause someone to swerve off the road or be blinded. That's complete garbage. A drop in HID kit in your 2012 wrx is not a danger to other motorists. If you want HIDs in your halogen projectors, go for it. You are probably doing yourself a disservice, but that's your problem, not mine. It would be smarter to do a H9 setup, but its your car. |

I found the stock halogen bulbs a danger as I felt like I was over driving my headlamps all the time due to lack of light.

Figured I'd bump this. With all these people complaining about glare (don't bash me, I'm running H9's), would you stop complaining if the squirrel finder is bent down?

This thread has been extremely helpful to me... I was up in the air on whether I should purchase an HID kit and just slap it on my stock halogen... or go all out and do a retrofit or purchase OEM STI headlights...
I went with the ladder and just recently purchased stock STI headlights... figure this way, I will have the most clean cutoff with no glare. Thanks for the help all! |

These are legit, if they're not blinding.
