If I'm not mistaken, you can use any for the '98 up Foresters. I don't think there were any changes to the strut configuration.

As for brands, I have Cusco bars front and rear in my '99. I love 'em. Any front bar that fits the Impreza should fit the Forester. Any rear bar that fits the Legacy should also fit the Forester rear.

Try either Cobb (www.cobbtuning.com) or iSR (www.autocaresubaru.com) or JC Sports (www.jcsportsinc.com?) for starters.

Good luck and happy hunting.

Take a look at Larry's site at http://www.imprezars.com. I picked up the Pro1 Strut Bar. Made more of a differance than I was expecting. Many Impreza owners say that a front strut tower bar shows little or no benefit. However I was able to detect the differance right away. Anyway Larry is a good person to work with. I dont know him personally, however he does keep in contact and provides tracking numbers for you.

Hello!

A front strut bar won't make that much of a difference with a stock suspension ... at least on an Impreza anyway. The performance enhancement is psychological at best.

You will notice the difference with a slightly upgraded suspension (ie new struts and or new rear swaybar).

I added a 20mm FHI rear sway to my RS and you can now feel the front strut towers flex in the corners.

L8r guys!

While a stock suspension RS does not get much benefit from the strut tower bar, a stock suspension Forester does, so it seems.

I have read several posts from others that put the strut bars on with a stock suspension, and they say it works wonders on the Forester. Maybe its the height difference. Maybe its the weight difference. But whatever reason, it seems to work.

Now the rear is a different. Rear makes a HUGE difference, both to the RS and the Forester, but even more so on the Forester. That big open hatch area is just begging to be reinforced.

I can't really tell you the benefits of one part over another with the stock suspension, myself, though. I changed everything at the same time... Struts to KYB AGX, springs to RS stockers, Cusco bars front and rear (and lower rear as well), and an 18mm sway bar. The thing still exhibits a little understeer, but WHOWHEEE!!! what a difference! I especially like to drive around with the front AGXs set to 3 and the rears set at 6. NIce and firm but not too stiff as to give an uncomfortable ride.

Again, just my $0.02.

Well today I put on my 18mm Rear Sway Bar, and oh my lord what a differance. One of things that I noticed when I purchased my Forester was the way the body seemed to wag back and forth while doing a quick evasive manuver at med to high speeds. The thing tracks like a charm now. I went to get on my usual on ramp and a smile just wraped itself around my face.

Just had to share that
