![]() Did we not get a thread started for this?!?
https://www.nitrorallycross.com/ I've watched the first two events thus far and while VSC did poorly in Utah, the Subaru team finished with a Speed/Pastrana 1-2 last weekend in Minnesota. ![]() It's great that they imported some Euro competition to enlarge the fields compared to past RX series, and it's especially satisfying to see the Subaru chassis has FINALLY evolved into a competitive (dare I say dominant?) platform in RX. Streaming online on some platform I don't subscribe to, but I caught the international feed on YouTube Round 1, and watched the full-day replays that are posted on Peacock (go back and watch the entire Round 2 event, the track looks SO fun and the racing was TOP NOTCH!) http://nrxtiming.rawmotion.com/standings/1 Scott Speed is in a two-way tie for the championship after Round 2 with 87 points. Pastrana is in 4th with 75 points while Bakkerud is in 8th place with 30 points. Let's go Subaru!!!

![]() I'll be honest I used to ignore Euro-style Rallycross for a long time in favor of following stage rally. I have been slowly getting into Rallycross since 2019, was more fun than I thought to see rally-built cars going wheel-to-wheel. And with that said, I was looking forward to Nitro RX and especially with the 2nd round that **** was exciting to watch.
The first round in Utah was mildly entertaining, but I found myself shouting at the screen (like occasionally happens when I watch F1) during the second round in Minnesota. I don't even know what to say about the Joker Lap, since it more of a 50 meter split and merge of the track than a traditional joker lap. But I winced every time the Subaru's went through there, with the length of the car being roughly the same size as the width of the joker. I don't know how the 3 VSC cars didn't lose more time or get stuck between the barriers there. Hope this doesn't disappear after 1 or 2 years like the past series. |

![]() Pastrana wins the series! It's been a long time coming, but WOW, what an exciting season! Love the NRX tracks versus more traditional RX tracks, the racing is really close and the bracket battles make for some compelling TV!
