Default EJ207 factory air box filter

Wondering what you guys found as your favorite air filter to pair with the factory air box on a 207. I'm using an old K&N but I think I could do better...

I buy oem basic filters and toss them every 10,000 miles. Cheap and effective.

back when i used the factory airbox, id use oem paper filters or just off the shelf frams. If I were to go back to the airbox, id consider an AEM washable dryflow panel filter now that they are offered.

OEM or the STI option filter. The latter has a nicer screen to hold the filter together if you remove and reinstall it a few times while the OEM one will probably fall apart at the edge seals. They likely flow the exact same.

I purchased the STi one time, I can buy 7 or 8 regular oem air filters for the price of 1 STi filter. I didn’t think it was a good idea to spend so much more for one filter and use it for 25,000 miles. I rather install a new air filter element every 10,000 miles.

It's $15-20 for the OEM vs. $65-75 for the STI, yeah. My point was that I tend to destroy the edge seal of the OEM part long before the service interval since I take stuff apart so often - the STI is reinforced and doesn't tend to fall apart.

OEM filter also has multiple sources of supply, as noted by the random color you get when you buy one. I've seen white, blue, and orange all right out of the factory packaging.

I have been using an Apexi drop in with oem airbox and it flows well enough for 350whp. It fits perfectly and seals well, the weave looks like it filters as good or better than oem paper. I only get turbo sounds from the exhaust though, intake and bpv are still silent.

Nope - I've got an APEX'i I used for like 10,000 miles and it works exactly like the OEM part.
