Sex? Yes, please.

Default what's the worst someone could do with your name and address?

I was browsing through the ebay motors cars and found a MINT 240sx that I want to buy. He took the car off of ebay so I sent the guy an e-mail and he gave me a bunch of info, VIN, etc and has been very nice through the messages other than ignoring my request for a phone number to contact him which seems fishy to me.

Now he is asking for my full name and full address to finalize a transaction between us. Is there anything bad that he can do with this information? He also is saying that he is going to do the transaction through ebay, but I thought you can only do that if you sell the car on ebay?

Nowadays, anything. As long as he knows where to look he can actually find out who was the first guy to ever take your butt virginity.

Moral: Don't do it.

So you don't have his info but he wants yours and seems reluctant to give you his phone number?

I wouldn't give anyone from the internet (that I didn't know) my address...NO WAY!!

Just give him your phone number and then trust your instincts.

Remember, if in doubt, DON'T.

I don't know about that situation. Personally in order to feel good about the transaction I would want to talk to the person over the phone.

Try keeping the sale going but press for more info on his part. Don't give up your identity until you know exactly what's going on. This could be a lure for identity fraud.

A site like www.anywho.com will allow you to lookup the address of someone with a US landline phone number if it's listed in the phonebook, ie. his phone number is quite possibly his address.

I'm telling you unless you can talk man to man you should walk away. Only a shady fuk would withhold info when you are talking about a large transaction like a car sale.

Maybe. Try searching the username part of his email adress in www.yahoo.com and www.google.com. It may turn up some interesting stuff on him. Does he say the car is in New York? If not then the "car" is likely bait for mischievious doings.

What are you planning on doing though? Getting some info on him is no assurance your info will be safe.

I just wanted to verify that the e-mails were originating in the U.S. and see if I can find any more information on the person by using the e-mail address. He also says the car is located in PA.

Guru,

You have PM! And I don't have a URL of any ad for the car, if that is what you are looking for.

Also, the person has told me that the car is located in Aquashicola, PA to be exact. I performed a search of his name on the internet and got one result, located in CT.

Forgot to add, the CARFAX report on the VIN he gave me shows the car as being available for sale at a local dealer in Allentown, PA on 7-21-05 which is under 20 miles away from Aquashicola.

As I said in my PM I got nothing.

If you know the dealership it's supposedly being sold at call them and see if Phil whathisname is working today. When contacting him again try forgetting about the phone number if you've been persistent and ask other questions you could interpret as a verification of legitimacy (sp). Is he selling it for a friend, when can you see it, etc.?

He could rape you and then kill you. Either that or kill you and then rape you. Not sure if its considered rape if you're already dead though.
