I thought the same when I got it...

Looked like some gussets are missing and a vertical door bar is missing.

The guy welding it in (ex-prodrive tech) said that this is how they come.

Welding anything else on top of whats provided could void the certification.

The new 2014 version does have more bars.

Hunh I would have expected to have seen a bar like mine for a shorter run with the harnesses and for the addition of a back brace to the seat if needed, but I can see being able to run the harnesses all the way back (the excess of mine are rolled/bundled)

I think there might be few benefits having the bar so far..
1. you can move your seat as far back as you want.
2. seatbelts during impact being longer, would stretch and absorb more shock.

Dont know if there are any downsides.

Who did your cage?
Has it been certified/log booked ?

here is my idea on the topic-

I was told once by an NHRA tech inspector to add stops to my cage to prevent the harness from sliding side to side.. It was NOT required.. BUT, the more i thought about it, he had a point. If your seat ever failed during a roll over, the harness would keep your head inside the side window away from the ground. so I added them on.

BTW----I am talking from experience---a few months later i crashed the car, the seat bracket broke and the harness did exactly what he said it would.

EDIT: the belts were attached to the cage cross bar by the B pillar.

what are you running for a seat?

what are you running for a seat?

Yeah...
Harness stops make sense..
I was thinking about that since I had a Sparco harness bar in the STI and it did have a "loop" for that.

As for the seats they are Recaro Profi SPG XL.

I dont really have either.
Just lucky enough to have a friend that did this this kind of work before.

If I only had the $$ for a sequential gearbox....

Some progress better than no progress.

Some plasma action.

... And a test fit.

And finally all my grocery runs can now get log booked.

Just another day, or two.

Right side sill support, with jack stand reinforcement.

3 Middle supports.

Rear Jack stand reinforcement.

Finished right side.

Master welder in action.

All pretty and somewhat aligned.

Finally jack stand holes were cut, so the whole side can be test fitted.

Master in action.

"Rear" issues. Flat or curved sill ???

Open the hood, close the hood, open the hood, close the hood. Repeat as necessary.
Also middle radiator support beam has been removed alongside enlarged intercooler opening.

Time to start looking for a core.

Front headlights are fitted and aligned !!!

Do you happen to have weight differences between the stock pieces and these?
