Default Winter tires

Curious.

When are you all swapping over? This winter really snuck up on me!

I think last year I made it into almost January before I switched. This year it seems colder so Im thinking early-mid december if these temps hold

Don't have a ton of experience with this but as soon as it stops hitting 50* around here I'll switch it up. Last year I switched at Thanksgiving and I was about a month early haha.

Yea 2 years ago I switched about that time and it seemed ok. Last year it was stupid warm....

I need to move west I think as much as I have a sick obsession with snow.

Switched mine last weekend. Temps here have been as low as 20*

WRXLaunch, you do know that the rubber compound becomes a hockey puck and loses grip in cold weather? You put on winter tires for cold weather, not necessarily for snow. Unless you have studded snow tires in which case you probably don't want to run those unless there's actual snow.

Done.

We've been in the 20s a couple nights. Summer tires don't like those temps at all.

I'll probably end up doing it this weekend, or shortly after at the latest. Definitely before December.

I think I am going to wait until mid december, unless it holds in the 40's each day before that..

TBH I cant wait since my winter wheels have a slightly smaller rim with a more meaty sidewall....haha it makes for a more cushy ride!
