I would also venture and say the O2 sensor bung as well. Rather creative design since it is spaced enough to give a false reading to the ECU allowing you to run catless without throwing a code. Much like having a spark plug defouler.

My first thought is that it was an 02 bung but I'd never seen one that had a tube coming from it.

So I wonder if its just made for a bung plug or an actual sensor?

To tell you the truth I have no idea. It doesn't have a name stamped anywhere on it, and I can't find one that looks like it on the Internet.

^Yep. As was said many times before, Rear o2 sensor bung with a "built-in" CEL-fix for a catless DP.
I remember Downpipes being offered back in the day with a built-in CEL fix.....was Helix one of those? |

i have done some research on the rear o2 sensor, like hinshawwrx said, the rear o2 is mainly for cat efficiency. however the rear sensor does have the ability to change fueling to some degree (on the gr). i havent been able to find out when subaru started this, but i have read some threads where people were making the mechanical fix on their own with spark plug anti foulers and had some fuel issues afterward. i would keep a close eye on fuel trims for awhile just to make sure no issues arise.

Interesting design. Wouldnt u run the risk of burning the wire off the o2?

is it threaded on the inside? If not, could be a custom V-Band for an EWG re-plumb.
