So I chose Gold for the RPF1s in 17x8. Looks great, imo.

New gaskets etc.. it was a complete rebuild except for the rod bearings everything else in the block was replaced. Now the car wasn't on the road for 8 months and no battery in it. Just got it back on the road last week and I find it idles way to high like 1500rpms at idle in park and just feels like it always wants to move now I know these have electronic throttle bodies and I wanted to know if there is a way to idle reset it because it's driving me nuts! It will even get as high as 20kmh without hitting the gas at all. This is my first ever build on my own on a Subaru so I'm still in the finishing all the tricks and Kinks stage
I don't know if this is related but at one point a while back, I had to clear some codes on my '09 manual. Cannot remember what they were. After doing that, the car idled low and would come close to stalling. After driving a bit, it did actually stall on me at low speed twice, which scared the crap out of me because at that point there was no power steering or power brakes either.

After I got home, I did some searching on here and found that the car did indeed need to 're-learn' idle. If I remember correctly, one way that was possible was to just drive it. That is what I found to be true. I probably drove about 30 miles total, being careful to not let the rpms drop too low, before everything was back to normal.

Hey guys i was wondering does anyone have an intake on their car? Im just looking for something that might add a nice mod to the motor. Also looking in to making a nice deep tone on the car but not a headache for long distance traveling...not sure if i should just swap muffles or do a full exhaust...any ideas would greatly help.

Every time I disconnect the battery I have a similar issue. The car won't start. I turn it over for a few seconds, then stop and remove the key. Wait a few seconds more and try to start it again and it usually starts right away.

This is my 2008 Impreza 2.5i sport that I'm talking about.

Try turning all lights, radio, and wipers off. Don't use anything that consumes power, and turn he key on. Wait a minute and start the car, and let it idle without touching anything for ten minutes. I believe that is the re learn process. I had to do it after changing my spark plugs, or else my car would come close to stalling and dropped well below the regular idle.

17x8 +45, no issues rubbing. Fitment is great. From it looks like I could probably have run +42 without poking too much.

I had a good look at the undercarriage of my car after installing struts and holy crap is it rust city up in there... lol. time for a full arm and brace overhaul and I'm looking to upgrade and strengthen.
I didn't see anyone respond to this so I'll take a crack at it. Basically, anything except the front sway bar and the front cross member brace for a WRX will bolt on to a 2.5i (same generation). Front sways will work with either some modification, or you can track down a specific 2.5i sway. It's been a while since I modded my car so I have a set of Rallitek sways that were made for the 2.5i. Not sure if they make them anymore.

That said, what interests you in chassis bracing? You probably cannot throw the car around hard enough to challenge the OEM chassis without significant modification. The stock tires, suspension, brakes, bushings, etc. are limiting factors long before the chassis stiffness comes into play. You'll get a bigger bang for your buck out of better tires, even on stock rims, or new pads/rotors, etc.

I almost made the guy at the battery shop **** his pants one day because I forgot about it and tried to crank it right after he swapped the battery in, and it turned over and over. Had to jump out and tell him it's cool, always happens.

By the way, are you BWX from RDF?

How is the DBW controller? does it make a big difference in acceleration?

How are the Racelands holding up?

throttle controller is by far the best thing ive ever bought. if your thinking about getting one just get one you won't be upset I only can speak for AVO but it's awesome. I agree racelands are cheap but they have a life time warranty and amazing customer service I had one small issue that really wasn't a big deal but they shipped a new unit out over night. I just have an aem panel filter.

Is there a specific Impreza controller or are you running wrx? How was the install with the coilovers?
