Help Me Please! Uncontrollable Popups! Computer Gurus Rescue Me!
I have just totally re-installed my windows XP (like...old version). it downloaded service pack 2 (gag) and installed it.
I have uncontrollable popups even when IE isn't open I've run Spybot search and destroy, and adaware. They still keep coming. help me. I get like 10 a minute and it takes forever to do ANYTHING!

Are those the Windows Messenger ones. If so all you have to do is turn the WM Service off.
1.Go to Control Panel 2.Go to Performance And Maintenance 3. go to Admin tools 4. Click on Services 5. Find the Messenger 6. Turn it off If that doesn't work, Get MOZILLA and be happy. Desi |

From the looks up it, you have been probably spending a whole lot of tie on Warez sites or maybe the ghettoest free porn sites you could find.. Trafficmarketplace.com doesn't just randomly go looking for fresh installs to infect.. you usually have to actually have some interaction with one of its partners |

If you have service pack 2, you might consider turning on the pop-up blocker...
Also - there is a program "hijackthis" or something like that - helps pull junk out of the registry which doesn't belong. |

Try downloading malwarebytes or AVAST!. They are pretty good anti-malware applications and should be able to identify the root cause of your issue. It is likely you have a virus or some other soft of malware if you are getting popups without actually opening IE or Mozilla, and your computer is running slowly.
Unless you reformatted using your OEM Windows XP disk, it's also possible that the disk you used had malware already installed on it, so you basically transferred it to your disk upon the install. Let us know how things go. Good luck man. |

While it was pretty funny, I had seen too many fights, and I honestly didn't feel safe where I was. At that point I had pretty much decided I had it with the east coast. I decide to pick everything up and move to the west coast that day and be a cabbie out there. Believe it or not, on the first day of my job on the West Coast, the first person to get into my cab was the same dude whose mom pulled him out of the fight. My mouth was pretty much just hanging open due to the extreme level of coincidence. I started to ask him what the hell happened, and he interrupted me mid-sentence and just said "Yo homes to Bel Air" Last edited by ClassicPurcell; 06-17-2012 at 09:15 PM. |
