![]() Is there any part number on these splitters and the hardware kit? Are they an accessory or are they a stock STI part?

![]() Did you look at the post above yours? Any dealer and you can buy them painted factory colors or buy them used on the boards!

![]() ok so i've read this whole write up and i'm still really confused about something. do you just put the new splitter over the current bumper? or do you cut out the bumper (on the red line pictured below) and replace it?
![]() if you just put the new splitter over the current bumper, wouldn't it look weird cuz it would be sticking out, and wouldn't be flush with the bumper? Last edited by mxer254; 04-09-2011 at 09:00 PM. |

![]() It goes over the existing bumper. No, it doesn't look weird. Look at any picture of an 04 05 STI.
Or the WRX 2 posts up. |

![]() Just completed this install and am very happy. Now to get the V-Limited Lip! Quick tip on cutting the three notches for the upper tabs...make them a bit wider than the tab width to give you some adjustment room.
I thought I had them laid out properly, but once I popped them in the wheel well side wasn't sitting flush. You CANNOT pop the tabs out once their in, so I ended up breaking the lock portion from 2 of the 3 to get them out (the third location was okay), then widened the notches to get proper fitment. JB Welded them on the inside of the bumper once reinstalled. Passenger side went perfectly having figured out the driver side. Also, don't know if this "hardware kit" is still sold, so here's the P/N's of the hardware: 902510034 for the speed nut, 901000218 for the flange bolt. I think the kits had 3 sets per side. |

![]() My son and I just finished this up today.
I'm an OEM fan, so we got all the oem brackets and stuff to get a factory fit. If these splitters come off with all the factory parts holding them in, you'll have bigger issues than just the splitter coming off. Couple cuts with a dremel and everything falls right into place and is TIGHTLY secured. The second side will take you a quarter of the time the first side does. Have fun! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
