Source for Detailing Products in BC?

Does anyone have a good source for detailing products (i.e., clay bars, Klasse, Lexol, Poor Boy, etc) in BC? I have been mail ordering from EShine in Toronto and would prefer something closer to home. Thanks -- Dan

Eshine is good. I've not ordered from them, since in the last while, the exchange rates have been great, but am about to make the first order. I have ordered from carcaresmart.com and they used to allow local pickup from Crystal Mall, but does not appear to anymore.

I do tend to use good/pro(?) product but I am not in the business. For the amount of time I invest in the detailing process, I figure it is worth using the good stuff... -- Dan

KMS Tools had a sweet 7" Makita buffer/polisher on sale for $199.
Looks like House of Tools has the same one on for $249.

I didn't buy it because I wasn't sure if it would be easy to find the buffs and stuff for it. The KMS guys weren't terribly helpful anyway, which left me thinking it's best to go to a proper detail shop.

On that note, this is a new RS sponsor that caught my attention.

The Makita polisher would probably be a good machine in the right hands. I am more comfortable using a random orbital polisher (Porter Cable) which is less prone to burn. -- Dan

canadian tire? are you kidding me? that's mostly the very bottom level of detailing products there. however, i do get the odd find - megs DACP there.. lol

Actually, I do stock up on some detailing products at Canadian Tire when they inevitably go on sale for example, Meguiars Gold Class Car Wash, Stoner Invisible Glass and Aerospace 303 Protectant. -- Dan

Thanks for the link Hypa. I'll be ordering from these guys instead, as I am putting together a group order for a coupla guys at work. And thanks for the tip about the Makita. I've been meaning to pick up a rotary for some time now (I have a PC 7424), and that Makita is looking mighty attractive.

It's your call, as I don't plan to deliver this stuff. You can also just buy stuff from KMS tools if you're just after a clay bar. I've used the blue bar there, and it's the same as the clay magic blue, and the pricing is reasonable.

Oddly enough, I'm basing my orbital purchase on what I can get at CT on a sunday morning. They have 5" velcro buffs? I'm buying a 5" orbital.

I've been eyeing up that Porter unit, as I've used one before and they're great. The Makita is nice though because I can use it as a DA sander when it comes to bodywork.

It's heavy though, as in the wrong hands could very well burn paint. Especially the paper thin Subaru paint.

CT surprises me sometimes.
Like, they actually carry the Porter Cable orbital at the White Rock location, and it's cheap!

I never even thought of hitting up KMS for some claybar. I'll have to pick some up when I head out to buy that Makita.

For Stoners, checkout Costco. Pack of 6 for dirt cheap IIRC

And how much are the claybars @ KMS? I have two containers of Riccardo's but doesnt hurt to buy more

I seem to recall it being a very good value. It's a big bar (like 8 oz or more, but I'd have to check at home. I think it was $24 at the time. They also have the red bars, which is for overspray (more aggressive and will scratch your paint).

I pick up a lot of stuff at KMS the have AutoGlym and some higher end Meguires stuff.... only problem is whoever does the ordering at that store is horrible as it's very hit or miss if they have ANY thing in stock. And yes I too have been eying the Makita polisher for months, it's been on sale at $199 for a long time.

Buddy, I walked in there and the damn place was nearly empty. Lots of customers, but virtually no stock. The bodyshop area looked like it was the victim of a riot, as whatever was left was a mess.

Costco only carries invisible glass of the Stoners line, nothing else. For glass, I actually prefer Eagle One 20/20. Don't even know if they make it anymore, as I bought a huge stash the last time it was on sale, and now that I use PIAA wiper blades, I rarely have to clean my windshield for water to bead, besides washing the car.
