Hi guys,
Interested to see pics of your Fuel Swirl pot set ups and locations, especially on Classic Imprezas.. looking for some inspiration

Mine is a bit different from others. Since my car is pretty much for street use with an occasional autocross thrown in I don't want junk hanging around in the trunk. I built mine to fit in the engine bay.

The second fuel pump is under the frame rail and protected by the fender liner so it's pretty secure. Everyone always bags on my setup due to the engine heating the fuel a bit but it doesn't seem to make any difference. The fuel is constantly circulated between the surge tank and the main tank so it's not like the fuel is just sitting in the engine bay.

Gumby that under hood tank looks amazing. Any pics of it before/during the install? Any chance you would be willing to save me some effort and post up a how-to or dimensions of the tank?

Here's one I have on my laptop. I might have more on my home computer but I won't be home till monday. I used a 4x4 piece of lumber as a form and wrapped the aluminum around it leaving a flap hanging off the side to mount under the washer bottle. I cut some squares and welded it all together. The extra brace goes to some preexisting holes in the strut tower and makes it really secure. I can measure the height when I get home but I made it as tall as would fit.

Awesome. Much cheaper than the Aeromotive ones, and it looks like it has a larger element as well.

"Complete" setups, sold as a package, often run up into the $1200 range. It can be done custom for MUCH less...

What I am doing/gathering:

Aluminum tank, welded: $80
AN weld fittings: $5 (x4)
Bosch 044: $189
Various fittings/hose: ~$150
Wiring kit: $30
Check Valve: $50 (http://www.jayracing.com/index.php?m...roducts_id=227)

Add more money if you want to run AN line all the way to the engine bay. I plan to just use the stock hardlines, but take advantage of a surgetank as well as the headroom I need over a single walbro.

EDIT: Need filters as well...forgot that.

I would be worried about a driver side wheel impact with the engine mounted one... that thing would shoot fuel everywhere.

Gumby, thanks for the extra pic. I should be able to figure something out with just that. When I pull the trigger on doing a surge tank I may have one made at a local shop that will fit where my stock washer tank is. Are you using a bosch 44 pump in your fender to feed from the tank to the rails?

ironic this thread is bumped as I hopped on here...I'm trying to finish my internal/drop in sump but my copy of Inventor just took a dump!!!

Yeah, I'm using a Bosch 044 in the fender and the stock pump in the tank.
