![]() It looks like rear door handles can be used for the front doors. If you only did the passengers side, you could get rid of an extra lock. Have you ever used that lock?!!?
From looking at Subiegal's Burnsie buildup, it looks like the door handles come pre-painted. With all of the exterior locks removed you might confuse a theif or two...and look smooth doing it. The locks are useless anyway. Frameless doors and glass windows will stop no theives. If the price is right, I plan on putting my door locks in the same pile as my trunk lock. ![]() |

![]() Why don't you just shave the door handles? I will be doing that as soon as I finish shaving the side molding, already did the antenna and trunk key hole.

![]() I got rid of the handle bars on the ceiling and the center sun visor! I hate those damn things, espeically the handle bars because people actually use them and then press their arms on my window leaving a big fat oily stain. Now they don't have anything to hang on to their dear life!

![]() hey aspera...
just took out the assitant airbag today, pretty easy and it's huge and weighs quite a bit, plus it's pretty high up in the body so it should move the CG down a little as well. here's how to do it if anyone is interested: -take the glovebox part down and unclip the airbag coupler -there are 3 10mm bolts the hold the airbag module to the IP beam. Take those out then push up on the whole module -the plastic part that attaches to the dashboard should pop out with a little bit of persuasion. -unclip the plastic clip that keeps the harness attached to the IP beam. -pull the whole assembly out from the top -now remove the plastic cover from the module by prying each of the holes over the hooks. You'll have to bend the plastic a little but it'll fit with a little bit of persuasion, you don't have to cut anything. -once the plastic is off go put it back in the dash so you're not left with a huge hole. Then put a 3 ohm resistor in the coupler and you're all good to put everything back together. |

![]() Hey Ellis, you should submit that to Peaty at Scoobymods. Maybe they can make a "Racer's Mods" section with stuff like that in it. I think it would be nice to have a "one-stop-shopping" list for guys prepping a race car.

![]() on 2002 wrx. there are a couple pounds to be had by removing the front belt cover in the engine compartment (brackets and cover).. but that leaves the throttle cable just chillin there to get rubbed to hell and there is really no way to move it away.. i had an idea to use a legacy throttle cable.. it should fit fine.. im gonna go to the junkyard saturday and see whats up to make it work.. my question is.. is the throttle cable easy to replace.. and does anyone know where you get to it from inside the vehicle.
has anyone even thought of this??? |

the problem is unless you're running in Prepared classes at auto-x you can't use these. And then why not just remove stuff all together? anyway, they are badass! ![]() |

![]() the cable is pretty stiff
it's a good 1.5 inches from the belt and I haven't seen any rubbing upon inspection if the only reason you want to remove that cover is for weight just forget it, it doesn't weigh that much. I have no way to attach it to anything anymore so that's why it's gone now. |
