Using the Hydra with the GM AIT Sensor..
I was planning on using the GM AIT sensor in my 02 H6 Subaru, mostly because I wanted to put it into a 4" intake tube. There are a couple of other threads about using the GM sensor, but most of them indicate that the readings seem different.
I was looking at the AEM software, which has a different calibration curve for the GM sensor then the Subaru sensor. Check out the picture below: The blue line is the AEM sensor, and the red line is the Subaru sensor (according to the AEM software that is). The green line is the map from the stock ECU.. Note that without knowing the loading resistor, the voltages are not comparable between the AEM and the Subaru. The useful comparison is more the shape. So, I'm curious if anyone else using the GM sensor sees readings different then what you might expect. Based on this graph, at 77 degrees F, a GM sensor on the Hydra would read about 52 degrees F. It of course leaves the question: Is the calibration in the Hydra correct for the Subaru sensor, or for the GM sensor? Jeff Sponaugle

Possibly weird question:
Since you know the shape of the curves (maybe) and you can edit the air temp correction in the Hydra (definitely), why not just use whatever hardware is most convenient and tweak the air temp trim table as needed? |
