Whatever happened to that guy that said he was going to work out the pricing at time of delivery?

Did you start out mid-20's before the engine was broke in? I'm only at 100 miles, but haven't seen anything close to 34-36

Does anyone know where to find the accessory installation guide for the crossbar base on a 5 door (non-sport)?

Dealer is quoting $50 for installation, and I'm wondering if that is worth it.

Edit: I found the installation guide for the 2011 and assuming it is the same there is no installation. What the dealer said is that they mark up 25% over MSRP on accessories to cover dealer overhead. Note to self, always get your accessories port installed if possible.

My last tank the avg read 22.8mpg and mine calculation was 22.5 mpg, so the gauge seems pretty accurate so far.

Just got a text from the salesman with a picture of my car

he said it doesn't have any options on it but they will honor anything I wanna order at cost. At this point, after 3 1/2 months of waiting, that works for me!

You're not going to for a few thousand miles at best. My previous '06 Forester didn't start seeing its stated fuel economy until 20k + miles or so. Be patient.

Just got the call, I'll receive my car tomorow or the day after, depending of the avaibility of the mecanics to fix the MC. The car has been at the dealer since the 21st, but the were waiting of the parts.
I ordered on october 5th, a 4 door canadian sport package. I'm having them install nokian hakka 7 studded on it, so I'll write my comments as soon as I try it.
Merry Christmass guys!

Anyone have a part number for the "Front Plate Bracket"?

My dealer said it is not on the accessory list from Subaru.

I saw other people post they were able to get any $500 accessories directly from the parts department, and I wish that were the case for me. In our case they want to have everything on the vehicle sales contract up front before taking delivery.

Those of you manually keeping track of mpg, are you filling the tank all the way up each time to the top of the fuel tank or do you stop when the pump shuts off and hope that from one pump to another the auto shut off will be the same?

There are options other than drilling into the bumper. Perhaps this 'No Holes' license plate bracket for 2008+ will work on the 2012's, if the tow hook threads are the same:

I had the same problem and notified my insurance company. The agent got back to me today saying that the VIN ranges are not in their database yet. He manually made the change and I am getting back $24.00. I would have thought that it would have been more!

Let's say each time you fill up, the amount of fuel actually in your tank can vary up to 1 gallon (in reality probably much less). It can affect your calculated mpg by maybe 8% (say 12 gallons vs 13 gallons). If you instead reply on a 4-tank moving average, the potential error goes down to 2%.

i'm on third tank of gas - mostly city driving. start and stop 8 miles to work in the morning and back home at night. some highway miles. it's cold and I warm my car up a bit, scrape the windows etc. trip A - which is total miles since i got the car is showing 24mpg, and trip b is showing 26 for this tank. Hoping this will go up as winter progresses and and way up when spring gets here

I don't get how the 4 tank average would change the potential error as the error isn't due to calculation but rather determination of true volume filled. 8% error at station A is still going to be 8% at station B.

I wasn't able to get any accessories up front either. My dealer told me to wait for a certificate in the mail from SOA! Who knows how long that's going to take!

Y'all are getting all mathematical on us!

Keep it simple, just go to the same station and same pump for this science experiment of yours.

If the error is truly random it would fall under a gaussian bell curve (centered around the average shut off point, with equal numbers falling above and below that point) and with more data points it would tend to cancel itself out. I don't remember the exact math (been a while) but that is the gist of it.

Go to the Subaru site, select Impreza, Build Your Own, and the accessories. It is there as a $31 option. The bracket is a universal one for all newer Subarus. Part's guy should be able to find it in a few seconds or from memory.

Here is the URL: http://www.subaru.com/vehicles/impre...ium/build.html

Enter your Zip Code, "Choose Your Accessories", then scroll down - highlight an item and a "blurb" will pop up.

There are a number of accessories that are not totally unique to the Impreza, they can be reviewed here.
