DVC on new Legacys
I recently spoke to a Penn-Jersey road rep for SOA and he said the DVC( Dynamic Vehicle Control, I think) will be an option on the 6 cylinder(217 horse) Outbacks. It is basically the same system Mitsubishi has on the Lancers as well as a few other car companies. It uses YAW, pitch, steering input, ABS, and other factors to better anticipate wheel slipage and then get the power to the correct wheels before slippage occurs. I believe some of the GT-Bs already have this system in Japan. Just thought I'd pass it along.
And, Outbacks are currently invading the L.L. Bean factory, getting their custom interiors fitted for the new L.L. Bean Editions. Can't wait to see those. (Edited for additions) [This message has been edited by Shik (edited March 25, 2000).]

You will have to buy the L.L. Bean baby to get the 6 cyl motor in 2001.

You mean the LL Bean will actually have a different motor? I thought companies stopped doing that years ago. Just like with the Ford Eddie B Edition the only difference now is the leather seats and the dash logo. That is too bad. I wanted to talk the wife into the H6 but I guess I will just wait to see if I can swing an Audi or if Nissan sends the US the Maxima SE-R. It may not have AWD but a 240HP-260HP stock V6 would be nice.

According to the rep that told me about the VDC( had his letters mixed up a bit), all Outback LTD's will have the 6 cylinder and the L.L. Bean will just be a special addition with little more then some interior and exterior upgrades over the normal LTD but who knows.

Ya gotta luv the way Subaru is doing things lately. I'll bet if you ask any Subie dealer or SoA staffer the same question about what is going to be, you will have completely different answers. Maybe the L.L. Bean model is the test bed for the ST-X motor set-up ?? A rumor but an interesting one !
