Default New Guy

Hey guys. I’m new to Texas, live in San Antonio now. Got out of the Marines in January. Got a job for the Airforce here. I own a 2004 WRX and am looking for a downpipe and AOS. Anyone have anything ?

I've got a Cobb catted downpipe that has a vband clamp on the back end. Shop removed it because they thought the cat might be bad (so it might not be).

Hey man. Dfw area here. Had my subie for about 1.5 months and love it so far. A few annoying issues but I attribute that to the previous owner being a moron.

Welcome! Not a lot of foot traffic through here, but there are still some of us. I've been in a sensible Subie for a few years now so no go fast goodies lying around.

Hey! I’m in DFW too! Never seems to be any love from these parts on here. Don’t know if it’s because metroplexites are too busy or it’s not en vogue but it’s a shame.

I’m in a 2015 WRX. Really have mine about where I want it (until I decide to do a full build),
Except for the fact that my brand-spankin-new ACT clutch kit is slipping worse than greased butter.

Anyway, feel free to let me know what area you’re in and if there is any subie activity around here.

Oh, I’m in Lucas (just east of Allen)

Yeah there use to be a lot going on here in Dallas just last few years not so much and I don't know why.
Maybe subies are too main stream now but there are lots of parts to be had in the threads. And I am in Fairview bye the way and I need to find a great mechanic for my 04 FXT which needs half shafts and brakes at the moment.

I don’t know what you’re looking for. But I have a few experiences I can pass on if it helps.

1) I only let growler motor labs (formerly Cobb) work on my 2015 WRX (unless I do it myself)

(Once I let another subie shop in the area upgrade my clutch/flywheel but that was a month ago and it’s got to be replaced already)

2) I take my wife’s and sons’ cars to Craig’s car care in Lucas. I think they’re pretty good at what they do. People say they are too high, but I don’t have any complaints. They only use OEM replacements though, so no performance upgrades or money saving generics

Also in SA. The Subaru scene here scares me.

It's dead on here because most of the people left.

Sad but true... As folks get older/married/have kids, they have less time to meet up. The newer generation doesn't seem to like internet forums and keep everything on social media. Unfortunately that's where most of the action happens now.

I'm dead smack in downtown Dallas, a stone's throw from Deep Ellum. Hadn't heard of any local meets until just now. I've owned my '13 WRX hatch for a little over a year now.
