Default WANTED - 5x114.3 16" or 17" rims/tires for m0mZ Avalon WMass area

I need a set of all season/summer rims and tires for my mother's 2002 Toyota Avalon. She has the original 15" steelies and rapidly diminishing snow tires on it now.

It's my understanding that this size is nearly universal for midsize sedans, minivans, etc. Anybody have a set kicking around that needs a new home? Toyota products preferred, but aftermarket and other automakers considered. I realize I may need bore centering rings.

Looking to keep the whole shebang in the $200 - 300 range or less. Any more and we'll just go new with Luke at TireRack.

Thanks. I'll bump this in the morning too.

Brand? Pics?

CapeRex, the Pilots may be a little too hardcore for the Avalon. I'll keep them in mind though, thanks.

Checking craig's - forgot about that.

They are actually all-season Pilot Primacys, not the Sports,so they aren't that bad.

They are Maxximi Pursuit Wheels (by Koneig)

Here's the pics:

You'll notice in the bottom right hand corner of the last picture the wheel had a run-in with a raised manhole cover and has been repaired by a professional aluminum welder. If you want a close up pic of it let me know...

Hmm... Not bad. What kind of car did they come from?

24 hour dibs on these rims if you don't mind. I emailed the link to my mom and I'll see what she says.

I'm a little concerned about the repair. Who did the work? Any other cynics want to comment on wheel repairs in general? I know nothing about that sub-kingdom of the automotive world.

They were on an Eagle Talon.

The repair was done by a friend's father who is supposed to be one of the best aluminum welders in the country.

The repair came out really good and he guaranteed me that it would hold air but that should def not be a problem since I drove with the wheel before it was fixed for 5 months. It was repaired purely for peace of mind. I had every intention of putting them on my wrx until I realized that they were the wrong bolt pattern

I could meet you in Worcester

But I'm not driving all the way out to South Hadley for $100

I go to school in Springfield if you want to wait until fall

Fair enough. My folks have the link and will let me know if they want to meet you.

Any pictures of the backside of the rims? Any idea what the center bore measurement is? Did you have to run centering rings on the Talon or did you just let the lug tapers do the centering?

Thanks for all the info.

I don't have any pictures right now but I can dig them out and take a couple for you hopefully this weekend.

No idea on the center bore...the lug nuts held the wheels just right.
