hell yeah, America may not like the wagon, but we do like our hatchbacks. our competitors are bringing back hatches, we need to join them, will they wait for the Mazda 3 and toyota Corolla to come out with the hot hatches first, or does the honda civic need to wake you up with a hatchback SI

I think we'll see similar "prototypes" or full production reveals of WRX and STI in first half of next year. I guess we'll see them on lots early 2021 as 2022 MY. Eh, I see less to be excited about. |

This Levorg prototype is...interesting. I didn't really care for what they did with the new Outback, and the new Levorg looks just as awkward and pinched. Despite it looking dang near production trim, maybe they'll tweak a few things before release to clean it up. |

What I like most about the front is how it kinda resembles the Mustang with some of the design cues. Had Subaru integrated the turn signals into a long strip above the fog light area like Ford did the Mustang, it would be more noticeable. I'm not sure the black unpainted lower fascia separating the bottom from the upper painted part is going to remain black. If it were all one color without the broken up look, it would also be easier to see Mustang in there.
Overall the hyper busy front and simplistic side language works out ok. The rear is also decent with good taillights. The current Levorg in STI performance trim is just so damn good looking, it's hard for Subaru to top it. Did they go over the top? Perhaps. But as with all Subaru designs we need to get used to them. Some definitely more than others. This and the new Legacy/Outback most definitely in that latter category. |

subaru has plenty of money to do it. they wont because they are too busy paying for recalls, replacing blown engines, and trying to grow too fast.

So is levorg longer wheel base to current impreza ? id so anyone know by how much. I like compacts...so wrx hatch would be ideal, but this seems, like current gen legacy long.
I was personally waiting for 1.6-1.8T crosstrek, or WRX hatch, but it will most likely be either used GLA45, GTI or even maybe the Kona N. Waited 5 years....think thats my limit. |

I would would wait for a subaru teaser image that may be shown to us in the 2nd or 3rd week of November. my guess is one car is a pre-production concept and one is a debut of a MY21 model. we will just have to wait and see, the teaser will reveal their intentions.

Let’s not muddle this thread up with non Levorg content and speculation about the wrx. We got enough threads for that.

Looks like Subaru takes a different direction for WRX/STI line. WRX hatch was available because of Impreza line. Now Impreza and crosstrek shares most of it together and WRX is spinning out of Impreza line then being an independent line. Realistically, if Subaru makes EV line, it will be forester and Crosstrek. Probably WRX hatch and EV crosstrek might not help to boost sales since it will be very similar or EV might be better. Possibly WRX hatch might not sell well. WRX/STI sales are much lower and there is no reason to spend money on WRX hatch. Majority of sales come from outback, crosstrek and forester. It does not matter Subaru has record sales or not. Subaru can not spend money on cars which they can not sell well. I don’t see WRX hatch will bring 7000+ car sales per a month without interfering Crosstrek sales. It might be better to spend money on Crosstrek EV version which can take a role of “turbo” hatch version. I am a hatch lover too but I already gave up. I will probably ended up with next Generation WRX or Possibly EV with 250 miles+ range and below 6 sec for 0-60 mph. If my 08 forester XT will last two more years, VW buzz (EV micro bus) can be option too. Honestly, if Subaru bring Crosstrek EV with duel motor AWD and 300 mile range and 0-60 mph under 5.5 sec, I will buy immediately and don’t care about WRX hatch anymore. |
