Default Subaru shops in Houston TX

Hey guys, I was doing research on here for if I get an STi and I was told that the Cobb AP is not the best way to tune your car (base maps anyway) because they run rich. What are some good shops in Houston to get a custom tune done at?
TIA

SGP Racing is another option, or taking the drive and going to MZM to get a protune.

Engine Logics is in Houston. They have good tunes. If you go to the track alot, have Brad richen your curve some more.

MZM is in Austin. There is another shop that people have been raving about lately in the New Braunfels area. Corey is the tuner there, but I forget the name of the shop.

Search more, post less n00b.

Been searching, the problem is that all the posts seemed to point to Engine Logics or EL as I have seen it referred to. I was just curious what else I could do. I had heard about SGP, I need to search to see if I can find reviews on them.

If everyone recommends one certain shop, I would take that as a hint.

There is a reason all the searches point to EL for Houston Subie after market work. Think about it, you have a heart attack in Houston and you ask the ambulance driver where he should take you. He says "the St. Lukes Heart Center in the medical center". You reply, "well about about the free clinic next to bus station" The ambulance driver gives you a look like , I'm kind of giving you the same look right now.

Well sure, I understand that but I would just like to get some insight from anyone who has gone elsewhere and what kind of service and results they have seen. I'm curious. I don't have the car yet so I want to get a good feel on everything. I'm 99% sure that EL is the best but it never hurts to look, right?

I would recommend flying in Ed (Vaus) form EQ Tuning or Chris from XX Tuning. Chris is coming to visit shortly (see a few threads down). Yes, I know they're not Houston local. Search their s/n to see why I recommend them.

Yes, I actually have seen others. If I didn't, I would not have posted my thoughts on them. When is the last time you logged your wagon, not the day you got tuned, right?

Every STI graph I've seen always has a lot of mid-range torque. Brad's graphs are the only one's that I see where peak tq is the same as peak hp. I guess he tunes very conservative.... This particular STI is barely hitting stock boost levels.

I do installs (see sticky at the top of the TXIC forum) at reasonable rates, and engine logics will be a good place for a tune...

there you have it...
