For anyone interested, I will be spending about $1,300 on the following for my EWG hybrid build:
Grimmspeed MBC (I already have the GS EBCS) Grimmspeed 38mm uppipe 38mm Tial EWG Grimmspeed wastegate bracket Deastchwerks DW65c fuel pump kit ID 1000cc injectors I am being forced to go with an EWG due to the boost creep of my current setup (I'm not complaning though ). What I plan on doing is tuning the MBC to control boost at WOT and the EBCS to control boost at all the other rpm ranges. I personally hate flutter and love the scream of the EWG + MBC, which is why I decided to go with the hybrid setup. When I purchase and install this in a month or so, I will post back in this thread with my results.

Still should have creep lol Plus, I would just run the EBCS, no MBC in your case. But its not my build You'll probably be happy with the result

VF52's creep pretty easily with a free flowing exhaust and intake. No tune can fix it. EWG is a good solution. If you don't want the flutter, then the hybrid set up is a good choice.
ie. Everything you have planned sounds good. Don't listen to people who don't know what they're talking about. There's a lot of bad advice out there. |

Most of the time creep is in the tune. If you're the very small percentage that it isn't in the tune, other things, like a EWG, can be done to control it.
I am just personaly not a fan of a EWG on a Vf. |

My car used to SPIKE to 20psi before I massaged the tune myself. I had a tune problem. I helped tune someone car that, no matter what we did, would CREEP up to 22psi at redline, even with his WDGC's set to zero. He had a mechanical problem. |

It can just help to make it's presence less obvious... a better way is to mechanically eliminate it |

I'm well aware what creep is. Creep is much more common on things like DSM's. Lots of those will E3 16Gs will creep into the mid 20's no matter what. That is true creep and nothing can be done without mechanical modification.
Many people think they have creep even though they do not. Usually when their tune calls for, lets say 18 psi, and sometomes it goes to 20psi consistently, especially in higher gears. They say it "creeps", but it isnt real creep. Without seeing said car in person or seeing datalogs I couldnt tell you which is the case. |

Here's an update for those of you who are interested. I couldn't wait the full month like I had planned; my parts are coming next friday! I am going to wait to get the injectors so I don't rape my bank account too hard at once and I'm going to use a safe tune from Eric at Torqued Performance for a hybrid EWG setup *dons ye old flame suit* In another month, I will get the injectors and head to EFI logics for a protune. Since I plan on lifting the engine to get the uppipe installed, I will also be doing Group-N motor mounts and a Kartboy Pitch Stop.
I'm going to take a video of my car before and after I install the EWG, trying to capture the sound difference and boost creep elimination as best as I can. Let me know if you guys are interested in seeing the results. |

Saved and interested in your results. I have a while before I will be going stage 2, (most likely late next summer or longer) and have been researching the crap out of EWGs.
Edit: Did you run your list of mods by Eric, or just pick them out yourself? What did he have to say about what you chose? Last edited by JSchell1309; 10-31-2012 at 11:32 PM. |

Picked them out myself through extensive research then talked to Eric about them. He's going to tune my Hybrid EWG setup so that the EBCS controls partial throttle boost and the MBC controls WOT boost. If you want him to tune a new set of injectors for you as well, you'll need a wideband.

Just another update.
I finally received my parts 2 days late due to the recent hurricane, but I'm glad that they're here at last! I will be installing them at about 2pm EST today and posting a video of how the hybrid EWG sounds with my current setup. Here's a video of how it sounds with my current mods: I'm still not 100% sure about how I am going to hook-up the two boost controllers, but once I figure it out I'll post a diagram for those who are interested EDIT: My stupid mechanic didn't allot enough time to install my parts today, so I will have to wait until saturday. Stay posted for results. Last edited by Mr Wrex; 11-05-2012 at 06:19 PM. |

You can really hear it in the video on the top end when it's just roaring. That flutter would drive me crazy though. |

P.S. You were probably running a 1 Bar spring on that EWG if it opened near ~14psi |

I would guess that WGDC and the spring run in an EWG setup affect how audible the EBCS/EWG fluttering is.
