Road closures force businesses to let their people go home. It about the only thing the governor can do to get everyone out of their workplaces and off the roads by a certain time.

Took this by the rockwall at the beach

Went out and drove for awhile, was great with nobody on the roads could drift all the turns on main roads

If you want some winter fun, try this:

http://www.ner.org/rally/rdral/event...nge-rally-2013

Did this back when I bought my first Subie. TSD rally's are A blast and you learn to drive your car on snow and ice. It's great, and humbling, because you are in a field of cars full of subarus and audis, and yet you all get your arses kicked by a dude in gmc van with studded snows, and someone else in a 1987 Celica.

This is what happens in front of my garage in nor'easters.

Edit: my parents have some pictures from 78. That drift reaches the roof.

I got back from helping my friend plow and I decided to try to move my car. Success! Snow up to the doors on my 2003 Outback on Baja Springs, and I was able to plow my way up the hill and out onto the road with not too much trouble.

My car got stuck in the middle of the road 100 yards from my house, grab my friends SUV which then gets stuck, the grab his dads truck which of coarse gets stuck... Fire dept came and got the 2 trucks free and told me to leave my car for the night. I hope a plow doesn't hit it

300,000 without power in RI and still 18" to go. Someone tried to drive a pickup truck through about 2 feet of unplowed snow and got high centered outside my window, I spent the night watching them try to pull it out with an Isuzu trooper. Good times.

I was about to say the wind is less noticeable inside, then a gust made my apartment vibrate.

The drifts are over 4' down here on the coast. Now the snow is blowin sideways, hard. The power lines are whipping around like made. I'm surprised we've still got power.

Seems like the wind is keeping the snow from building up on branches and power lines now. The trouble is if it blows hard enough it'll start knocking things into lines and out we'll go. I did noticed the trees that were hanging low this afternoon have sprung back up.

So glad I didn't lose power here in Glocester, RI. Wife is ready to pop out our first kid any day now and I didn't want to have to deal with extremely pregnant wife and no power.

Posted this in OT, but I'll cross post here too; pups playing in the snow.

Wow, how does that happen? Riding too close to the edge of the road that you can't see under the snow and just lose it? Hope the driver was OK.
