I was just wondering if the formula was figured out for the install of an 08 STI intercooler into a 02-07 WRX. It seems like some people are having a hard time with the install etc... I currently have an 06 WRX and would like to install an 08 STI intercooler if it will bolt in.

You will need the Passenger side brackets from the 08 or modify your 06 brackets. The problem is around the turbo area. The 08 is so much bigger that it makes contact with the wastegate bracket and actuator. Otherwise, it bolts up without much fuss. Use your 06 breather lines, bypass valve is the same, driver side bracket is close enough to fit.

Thank you so much! What about the splitter for the hoodscoop, should you have one for an 08 or get one for a 06-07 STI?

Neither splitter is a bolt on afffair. You will need to modify something. You can start with your stock one and go from there.

I have a couple of questions:

A) I just bought a 2008 USDM STi TMIC, do they ALL have STi logo(mine doesnt )?
B) Is there any additional parts needed to bolt on to a 06/07 WRX(in my case wagon)?

Default STi TMIC size/specs comparo. (I.E. is the 08 an upgrade?)

Here is a picture showing a 2017 STi top mount installed on a JDM STi ver 7 motor. Required extending the left side bracket and a longer throttle body coupler. A Grimspeed diverter sits over the core area perfectly.

Sorry if this has been asked before but I can't seem to find the answer to this question. Can you install a stock STI TMIC from a 2012 on a 2013 WRX non-STI? If not what needs to be changed in order to do so? I would assume that an STI intake manifold would be required to do so but is there anything else?
