Default Stock EJ255 VF52 on E85 Owners Only! Please chime in!

Just curious to know how many ej255 owners with a vf52 on e85 still have their motors running with no issues. Please answer the following....

-How long have you been on e85?

-Did your motor blow or is it still running strong?

-whp/wtq figures.

I have a 2014 WRX on E85 making 330whp 400wtq. Had it at that level for 8k miles and the motor has been running fairly well but I haven't driven any other subies before.

As for the motor... I think it's fine but I've been monitoring my coolant overflow because it's pushing coolant and overflowing into the engine bay when pushed hard. I've been told it might be early signs of head gasket failure, but I got a koyo radiator in hopes that my stock one was beginning to leak.

yup thats headgasket. start saving. mine after 22 psi and 9 years is starting to burn a bit of oil when pushed hard. it never did since new. if it blows, i go bigger and better. its my weekend car.

As above. 332 whp 15k miles on E85 only and loving it. Doing 3 autoX, performance driving events/yr with no problems. 2009 wrx 60+k miles on the engine. I add ethanol cleaner every 3 months for whatever it's worth...91 map is 19psi e85 is 21. It has been stage 2 on 91 for 30k miles.

Nice numbers!! What ethanol cleaner do you use? Do you go back and forth from pump to e85 often?

I know this is for owners only but I am interested in the
longevity of engines and e85. From my research I can add that they seem fairly reliable with some large mileage figures (post 100000). I also note that as long as your source of e85 has a consistent rating you will see good numbers in the performance department. Up to 30% plus when compared to a vehicle with same mods running gasoline.

Mine went out within a month. Baseline 91 came back with 50 less whp, but the E85 tune came out to 330/400. Car gave no issues of it going out, I was maxing out 4th one day and when I got off the highway I heard ticking. When I got back on to go home, it was a spun rod.

I never found out what caused it, but I never had any tune issues on E85. I cant wait to finish breaking in the new engine.

I just swapped to flex / e85 yesterday, got the protune done in the morning with perfect SoCal weather.

2008 wrx
Bone stock with a TBE ; dyno @90k miles (dyno dynamics) 208whp 222tq on 93pump

Add VF52
new shortblock
ARP head studs
forged pistons
PW Verticooler
3port ebcs
invidia catless DP
walbro 255
dyno (dyna pack) 270whp 308tq on 91ACN

Added Cobb Flex Kit

the propel station i went to got 75% ethanol based on the cobb sensor, car feels like a new animal with all that torque.
im very happy with the car, on a conservative tune as it is a DD, and the corn is only 2.10$ so significantly cheaper then the ****ty 91 acn

update. still same power. only use E85 fuel for past 2+yrs, @135k miles and on this setup.(vf48, id1000, walbro255, sti intercooler, protune.) runs like champ. has hiccups every now and then. new timing belt, plugs, coils. but now possibly pulley going out. (under boost sounds like I'm supercharged..) but motor over all is pretty solid. (high hopes) and will continue to daily corn. had set up for 32k miles so far. still pulls as hard as ever.

15k miles later, still going. I'm approaching 90k on the car now, so motor will be coming coming out for timing belt, water pump and probably drop in pistons. Clutch is also now slipping
