Default K & N typhoon Intake sound clip

I have heard these intakes are very loud. I want to get one becuase they dont affect the MAF readings but I dont want something that is too loud. Can any one describe how loud this intake is or even better would be to post a sound clip.

Thanks

I would like to hear a sound clip also. But mine is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. Maybe I'll post a sound clip before and after I install it.

I don't have a sound clip...
but the K&N short ram is hella loud ...
I mean, the turbo noise is MASSIVE when your are in boost, and the stock BPV sound level is close to an aftermaket bov...

are the cold air versions as reliable as the short ram when it comes to MAF readings?

The typhoon is "supposed" to now screw up MAF readings, so I guess so.

From what I've read, the cold air version doen't do as well with the MAF.
The newer red short ram, on the other hand, works better with a stock car.

I would suggest you to get the newer version.

Why on earth do you want an intake if it won't mess with the MAF readings? That's the only thing intakes are good for on cars without FMICs!

Can you explain why an intake is good if you have an FMIC? (I'm new to all this, trying to learn) My guess is that the air intake becomes greater with an intake, and since the FMIC has a larger capacity for air it goes hand in hand? Just a guess.

ah ok, clearance issue. makes sense since the stock intake system does hog up alot of space...

Kinda OT but what's the price range of the Typhoon? I've seen close to $300 and I'm all set with that for something that is pretty much just a noise maker.
