Great news Jared. I would say postpone the go-live until the program and forums are ready for re-release with the updated name.

If you need an ECU on the Subaru CD reflash list, then the 05 STI ECU is not for you. There are no SOA reflashes for it.

Let me re-check the list. There was an update for the 05 STI, so by EPA rules, it should be on the CD. CAN Flash works on 03+ ECUs.

http://techinfo.subaru.com/html/repr...ck_listing.pdf

I was thikning it would be listed as there was an update. It is not. I just neeed any ECU that is on that list. Preferrably an 07 STI ECU as I have that car and it is on the list.

I will. If I end up helping out, I will need an ECU and pinout diagram. I will also have to get a chip prgrammer to pull off the flash memory chips and install a socket so when I brick the ECU flashing it, I can restore the flash memory chips with working code.

All I have is a spare 04 STi ecu

You have any links to chip programmers and whatnot that you're looking at?

Well, I know that Ken has a link to the OE Subaru Reflash CD (Also, it is only like 50 bucks from Subaru). You can buy a J2534 compliant flashing cable from many places, but that does not give us any idea on how the flash process works. We need to purchase the API specifrication and code our own compliant J2534 flashing software with tracing built in. The tactrix cable should work ok a far as hardware is concerned, but I need to review all the specs to make sure.

I guess I read this too late.. As the name is already selected ?

But, every time I talk to people with no idea of what an ECU is and Enginuity does, there is some explanation to do.

Windows is a strange name for an operating system, but it seems to work. It describes in common sense what is displayed on the computer screen. It is easy to remember.

So, how about naming it:
- Mapper
- MotoTune
- MapTune

Naming stuff isn't easy.
