Unhappy good thing i didn't lease it

so i've had my baja for exactly 8 days. I love the car, the leather, etc. etc. And my gf loves the car more than i do but any way I looked down at the odometer today and I was shocked to see it read 989 miles!! I bought the car new 8 days ago! How could i possibly drive so much in 8 days? On the bright side i'm almost through the breakin period(it's never seen 3500 rpms) I can't wait too see this car really move!! Anyways i just wanted to share that. (i'll probably be walking most everywhere from now on) I think it should reach around 1,500 just as the new wheels get here.
chris-
ohh and do any of you wrx owners have your stock star badge? My gf wants a pink star one but if i get this on there first I'll be spared.

Hey Chris(#2)

The odometere kind of jumps up after the first weekend for everyone. So, you're not alone. If you want my star badge, it's yours so long as you can get it off my grille.

ditto on the mileage, but my mileage sky-rocketed in the first 3 months....for the first week, i had travelled a little over 1k. when i was finished with the month, i had put 4k miles on it. i felt so bad. it started to slow down after the 3rd month with my car have a little over 9k. i guess you can call it slowing down.

Default How'd that happenż

Where did the mileage come from?...

I just cracked 14k miles this weekend. And I've only had the car since April of this year. I swear something is wrong with the odometer...

Chris.

well i guess it came from using the car for all my hauling needs. Though we only moved from approx 5 miles away. if that. I guess it's just cool to drive around in a new car and you kinda reach for those keys instead of the old ones.
??
ohh and for update i'm around 1,350 tonite.

wow. though i shouldn't speak. My first car was a 99 jeep, when i traded it in exactly 14 months later it had 40k on it. The guy at the dealer was like " What did you decided to DRIVE to cali and back a few times??" (keep in mind I was in Long Island New York at the time)

I've lived REALLY close to work for the past year, like under 10 minutes...AND I've carpooled every other day.

Just lucky.

My insurance company never believes me

And as of August, I've been driving my car everyday, (well not the entire month of September as I was out of town).
