Default Need tire shop with new/top of the line mounting machine

I'm looking for a shop in houston that has the newest generation of mounting machine that doesn't bolt the wheel down but instead holds in from the inside of the wheel.....nothing touches the outside of the wheel.....rumor is that pro am might have one. I'm gonna mount some rubber on the Formels finally (out of the display case) and I'm not willing to even risk any damage....I don't care how good a shop is purported to be, unless they have the state of the art machine, forget it.

Willman

P.S.- Kenny at Gillman north told me about this....and he definately would know.

I don't know of any.......pro am might.......I had mine done at ntb this weekend......even with me being a hawk.....they still scratched my wheels..........

Nobody gives a flying f@#$ any more......it pisses me off to know end that no one takes any pride in their work any more.

The discount on katy fwy was pretty good. I went to NTB because I could get my tires mounted and balanced for less. If I had to do it over again.....I'd probably just go to Discount because it is closer and such.

So, do you have all recent items painted/mounted now? I need to see it. School is done tomorrow! Thank goodness.

No......you'll like this one......I take everything down there.....the guy looks at the hood and says this hood is a POS......if we fix it.....it'll be more then a new hood, and if we paint it, it'll look really crappy.

So I had to get a brand new hood!! I ordered it......they lost the order.....had to reorder it. It got delivered last week.

I don't expect to have it before the holidays......Either way I don't really care.......I don't have the time, nor the place to install everything.

What a freaking nightmare.........plus I'm pretty positive that my whistle/vacuum leak is from the intake manifold. So gotta rip that puppy off when I confirm that's where the leak is......will probably put the balanced & blue printed injectors in at the same time.

This damn car.....

Holy cow, that sucks. Are you out the cost of the hood that sat at my house? Any recourse? Why was it a POS?

basically there was a bunch of dings in it. I'm pretty much out the money. I possibly could try and sell it to a local junkyard.....but that may be more hassle then it's worth.....I don't know.

However.....the hood scoop & baffle is well over what the price I paid for the hood.....so I guess it's not that bad.

Default ok...back to wheel machines

I have determined through luke at tire rack and by perusing the Hunter website that what we are seeking is the Hunter model TC3500 wheel mounting machine. It is specifically designed so that the face of the wheel is never touched at all an is the OEM recommended tire machine for Ferrari, Porche and BMW M series and 800 series and up vehicles.

Default prices

one the top end, $17-23 per tire, mounted and balanced. this is the price for the titanium corvette wheels with run flat tires (very hard sidewalls like Azenis). to me thats pretty cheap compared to certain wheel damage.
